Q: You'd be different from Laura Bush?

A: Well, you know, I don't know Laura Bush. But she seems to be calm, and she has a sparkle in her eye, which is good. But I don't know that she's ever had a real job — I mean, since she's been grown up. So her experience and her validation comes from important things, but different things. And I'm older, and my validation of what I do and what I believe and my experience is a little bit bigger — because I'm older, and I've had different experiences. And it's not a criticism of her. It's just, you know, what life is about.

She just get's better and better and better! Is there any chance she wants Mr. Kerry to lose?

Ok, Mama Teresa, what type of "real job" have you had, beyond keeping Mr. Heinz happy on your knees when he was alive? Mrs. Heinz? What type of "real job" have you had?

Born in Mozambique, fluent in several languages, she has combined compassion and common sense to become a force for innovation and social progress as leader of one of the nation's large private foundations. After studying at the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa and the University of Geneva, she moved to the United States and got a job working for the Trusteeship Council of the United Nations. In 1966, she married Senator John Heinz whom she met when they were graduate students and with whom she had three sons. Shortly after celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary in 1991, she lost her husband in a plane crash.

Turning down offers to seek election to her husband's Senate seat to take care of her sons, family and professional responsibilities, she became chairman of The Howard Heinz Endowment and the Heinz Family Philanthropies. Under her leadership, the Heinz foundations are widely known for developing innovative strategies to protect the environment, improve education and the lives of young children, reduce the cost of prescription drugs, promote the arts and help women achieve financial economic security. She established the Women's Institute for a Secure Retirement in 1996 to educate women about pensions, savings, and retirement security.

Their mutual interest in environmental issues brought Teresa and John together. She was first introduced to John Kerry by Senator Heinz at an Earth Day rally in 1990. In 1992, she met Kerry again at the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro when President George H. W. Bush appointed her as part of a State Department Delegation representing U.S. non-governmental organizations. She and Sen. Kerry were married in the presence of her three sons and his two daughters on Memorial Day weekend in 1995. Teresa has received numerous awards and 10 honorary degrees for her many works. In September of last year, she was presented with the Albert Schweitzer Gold Medal for Humanitarianism, for her work protecting the environment, promoting health care and education and uplifting women and children throughout the world. She was elected a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2001.
    ==============================================

Laura earned a Bachelor of Science degree in education in 1968 from Southern Methodist University in Dallas. After graduating, she became a schoolteacher at Longfellow Elementary School in Dallas Independent School District until 1969. She then taught at John F. Kennedy Elementary School, a Houston Independent School District school in Houston, until 1972.

Bush earned a Master of Science degree in Library Science in 1973 from the University Texas in Austin. She is the second First Lady (after Hillary Clinton) to hold a post graduate degree. After that, she worked at the Kashmere Gardens Branch at the Houston Public Library, until 1974, when she moved back to Austin. She was a librarian at an Austin Independent School District school, Dawson Elementary School, until 1977.

She met George W. Bush in 1977 at the home of mutual friends and married him in November of that year. In 1981, she gave birth to twin daughters, Barbara and Jenna, now graduated from college.

Is it an acurate assessment to say that Teresa looks like she would be a tiger in the sack while Laura seems like she would be a dead fish fu©k?

I dont know man, my life experience has taught me not to necesarily judge a book by it's cover. The quietest have sometimes been the nastiest.

Not that I would want to hit either lady; one looks like The Joker (Bush) and the other has godawful fashion sense.

That settles it. Teresa Heinz Kerry has now lost my vote for President.

To be fair, I will not vote for Neil Bush either.

I believe there is another difference between the two, but I am running a Google search on:

"Mozambique car crash ex-boyfriend killed first lady t-boned never charged"

just to make sure we aren't missing something from T H-K's teenage years that she would share in common with Laura.

Why is this Ms. Kerry and Mrs. Bush? Is this what they call themselves, or a stupid "gotcha"?

Ah, the "lady in the parlor, whore in the bedroom" theory. Interesting.

I'm with GringoTex on this one, though. THK is a sexy woman. Laura Bush looks like a vocal member of the PTA.

THK is for famous international playboys. LB is for people interested in recipes for salsa.

    Let's review:

Laura Bush: usually keeps her mouth shut, bakes cookies, reads to kids. All acceptable as far as republcians are concerned

THK: says what she thinks. Mocked by republicans, almost with as much hatred as...

Hillary: outspoken, independant. Hated with the fire of many suns by republicans.

Barbara Bush: kept her mouth shut in public. Loved by republicans.

Nancy Reagan: kept her mouth shut, even as she controlled Ronnie when he was losing it. Exerted at least as much influence as Hillary. Loved by republicans.

Does anyone detect a common theme here?

    Either

    a) republicans love their 1st ladies, hate all democratic ones

    b) republicans love ladies who keep their mouths shut, and hate 1st ladies who do anything more in public than bake cookies.

Meanwhile, democrats for the most part have not directed any personal attacks on the spouse of republican candidates.

It does seem to me that some people have for the most part respected women as people, independant of their politics and marriage, while others...well, others bitch about Hillary and THK and how horrible it is that they don't keep their mouths shut and stay in the kitchen.

There are times when you simply become just a tiresome shill for the Democrats, losing every shred of credibility you might ever hope to have...

My credibility? My username refers to a wedding disk jockey who ******** himself...

(Okay, John Stewart does it better)

For shits and giggles, I tried to read some of your links. Before my brain shutdown as a result of the mindless vapidity of the 1st lady's comments, I realized something. Every thing she talks about is "women's stuff". Teachers. Reading kids stories. Libraries. Cookies. Chocolate. Raising twins. Worrying about her husband. Dialog straight from the Stepford Wives.

So * you for the attempted insult, but thank you so much more for blatantly proving my point. To many people, 1st ladies are only respected when they confine their activities to "traditional" women's work.

Now, *****, why don't you go knit me a sweater...

(sidenote - didja notice my "attack" was on the vapidity of her comments, not her?)

For fun, here's some excerpts from the transcripts you posted, so everyone can see just how well you unwittingly proved my point.

Holy crap, she admitted a mistake.

Kerry better not win, or that sense of personal responsibility might contaminate the Oval Office.

To be fair, Laura is very, very pretty. Definitely prettier than THK. However, THK, by thinking for herself and speaking for herself and being something other than a decorative lapdog whose main purpose in life is to gaze adoringly at her husband, is much sexier.

    Except to women-haters like ITN.
