You're correct, my bad. Dude needs to Pimsleur himself up some Chinese language skills because an additional $2M/yr is real money. That ain't going to be available for ever.

I kind of doubt he goes to China. Heck, his fiancee has made almost $15M in tennis earnings and has significant sponsorships. I think they are doing ok.

He seems to be huge with TFC fans. Being that he scored in every Cup final for two years running and scored at a silly pace through the 2016 playoffs as well, I'm not surprised.

What a disappointing career. At least he scored on Spain that one time.

Jozy did everything right on the cut back but finishing is the most Important attribute from a striker. See how Landon does the cutback and scores.

Jozy has been a pivotal player for TFC and looks to be popular with the fans. He has had a great MLS Career.

doyle asserting jozy was worn out at the beginning of the second half...does that comport with what anyone saw?

it seems like hes not 90min player anymore in GGG's eye. If thats really the case, why bother calling him up? Does he make that much of a impact ?

He probably buries that opportunity in a friendly. Very frustrating.

When someone surpasses him they will take his place. But right now the main alternatives (Zardes and Sargent) are not as good.

This is always the problem. Jozy is what he is- which is pretty good but not as good as we need - we just haven't gotten someone consistently better. Wood showed promise, as did a few others. The reality is the USMNT fortunes tend to turn on keeping and scoring (which is no surprise.) When we have stand-on-our-head keeping and can scrape together scoring, we can over-achieve. But if a number of guys aren't finding net, we rarely have that single guy who finishes high percentage of chances.

Dempsey/Donovan/Jozy/Davies. That was 1 hell of an attacking lineup.

Jozy is simply not a top drawer striker but he's the best we got.

He has lapses in concentration too often and misses chances he should bury.

He is a confidence player who has ridden waves of scoring as well as long valleys where he can't buy a goal. Just too inconsistent.

Too bad, as he has all the physical and technical tools.

Really thought he was going to be a very special / top tier player when I first saw him at NYRB... but alas, he never solved his consistency problems nor improved his aerial game nearly enough to be that top drawer striker. He has improved his holdup game well, howev.

He's just has never been able to put it all together.

    I wish we had better.

I thought Davies was on the cusp a few years ago before his accident.

I thought Wood might be the next.

Sargent - maybe. Time will tell.

    Definitely not Zardes, howev.

did you see Soto at the U20s? I think he might pass Sargent on the pecking order.

I'm just really tired of the US soccer press writing poems about his hold up play.
