Oh my God, he's right! I've just looked at the fixture list and after the first five Champions League group games we have a home match, only after the sixth one are we away, at Newcastle. You know, I love it that this will wind him up even more.
I'm sure I will be flamed for this but to be honest I do see this as a bit of conflict of interest. Now this isn't to say that Jose and the Chavs have been getting a raw deal. They haven't. BUT I do think that even if there isn't anything improper going on, it does create the impression that something could be. I had the same problem with the comissioner of Major League Baseball until he sold that sad sack of a franchise in germantown. and honestly if we really don't get any advantage from this, why would we care if he has the post or not? or is there really an advantage to having him in a position of influence at the FA and we just don't admit it to ourselves?
regardless of whether or not there is any conflict of interest, mourinho is wrong. chelsea do deserve to be treated as devils.
from soccernet: 'Some are treated as devils, some as angels,' he told a news conference at the club's new training base. 'We are not so ugly to be treated like devils and I don't think Arsene Wenger and David Dein are so beautiful to be treated as angels,' he said in reference to Arsenal's manager and vice-chairman. 'I went to Brazil for a holiday, I didn't go to chase players and have secret meetings with clubs.' ummmmm...is that because he does it in LONDON..?
It's really surprising that Mourinho is apparently such a good coach and achieves good results, given the constant stream of dumb things he says. Does he really think before he opens his mouth? Sheesh. The whole Dein thing is old news and has been discussed ad nauseum. But I guess Mourinho is constantly looking for new people and entities to complain about how badly they treat he and Chelsea. Go make another dumb credit card commercial Jose!
The best is the little chart of all the games and the days they are on. Jose moans about Arsenal playing all their post-CL Premiership games on sundays, but Chelsea have 3 sunday games and Arsenal have 1 monday game and 1 sunday game. shut your yapper and just play football!! i also think it is a conflict of interest to have Dein working for the FA. He should step down there.
The FA and PL are different entities and if there is any issue that directly deals with Arsenal, Dein does not rule in the issue due to a potential conflict of interest. I don't think there are is any unfair benefits to Arsenal by his being on the board. However, I can see the point of his not being on the FA board. I'm sure we would all cry foul over Glazer or a rival club director being on it!
let me preface this by saying this post is abstained from the Kangaroo Court.. (did i use that word right?) Mourinho says what everyone wants to say.. this guy just has some serious ambition and is cocky.. I am the same way.
This guy truly is a moron, he's a decent manager but he makes an embarassment of himself every time he starts yapping.
I believe you mean "exempted" from the Court's jurisdiction. The question though is why? Are you claiming some sort of sovereign immunity, phishy?
I think phisy is claiming something like a spouse confidential exemption based on his relationship with CFCinDC. I think we need a ruling on this one. BTW, Jose is such a "funny" guy. He is like the drunk uncle at the wedding who everybody tries to ignore. For anybody handed nearly bottomless funds to complain about fairness is...um, special.
I saw the title of this thread, and all I could think of was this: "You bad man, you very very bad man!"
Exactly. Usually I would cry foul of anything involving Dein, but that would involve defending Jose in this case...
You know the way that those signs sayig "Cars parked at owner's risk" in car parks actually mean fvck all, so does your attempted exemption! The Kangaroo Court is a law above all others!
