well guys, I got this article from soccernet.com and I couldn't agree more. It's of Real Madrid legend and ex-World Cup legend from ARgentina. Jorge Valdano. He explains why LFC and Chelsea play unattractive footie and that it's all because of their coaches Edit: forgot link to article http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=428569&cc=3888 also tried to fix title but wasn't able to :-s
This was reported in the broadsheets as well. Interesting article. The argument is not so much that they suck, but that they pursue success at any cost...
just realized that it didn't let me quote the entire article it's not about how they suck, more how their team's play monotonous and boring footie
stupid. Does anyone even remember Valdano? I'm sure Barcelona and Arsenal would rather play beautiful football and watch the finals from home.
Maybe. Maybe not. What I do know is that the supporters of Barca and Arsenal would rather watch thier team play beautiful football and win f'uck all than to watch boring football and win f'uck all.
I do remember seeing lot of Arsenal fans calling Wenger to resign when they were getting bad results while playing beautiful football
Rafa and mourinho have bossed european competition with valencia ,porto ,chelsea and liverpool. Valdano is small fry in european football. His team bit the dust months back. next article please.
Juventus has been doing that for a decade and they get a free pass? Meanwhile Benitez (who is the most prominent European coach atm) is getting the harsh treatment?
Benitez is the best manager of the moment. you can't compare Liverpool squad with the ones of Chelsea, Milan, Barça... and he is on the way for a 2nd champions league.
Even my Liverpool supporting friend wouldn't say that (he says second best). Your supporters are much less likely to get restless and chairmen who buy a club for it to play exciting football are less likely to fire the manager.
I think this is a bit rich - honestly sometimes posters have the attention span of a gnat Do you remember when he was in all kinds of bother having lost embarrassingly to the gunners?
Well. it's my opinion. He did a really good job with Valencia. And with Liverpool squad you cannot win a regular season, so it will have highs and lows during the year. Not so far . Really, Porto with top-players like Deco and Carvalho is not so far than the Liverpool that bet Milan. Or that current Liverpool that has reached the final against the Abramovich-millonaire-Chelsea of Mourinho (with Sheva, Drogba, Ballack, Lampard...)
