Every time I read "TnT", I can't help but start singing TNT by AC/DC... Twellman's theme song? Who knows...

    1. Daniel Hernandez - possibly one of the best all-around individual performances in team history.

    2. Adin Brown - Am I ambitious in thinking that he could see some time in a U.S. National Team camp soon?

    3. Jay Heaps/Rusty Pierce - Flat out got the job done.

Hon. Mention: The fans... never seen anything like it.

    Brian Kamler.

A goal and a solid second half in central defense.

And, don't know if you guys have had the privilege, but Brian's the nicest guy in MLS, by far.

    Congrats you guys...keep it going.

Another vote for Hernandez. He made a ton of good passes and defended solidly all over the field. Oh, yeah, and a nice set-up on the killer goal.

Honorable mention: pretty much everyone else wearing a blue shirt.

    ,..,,

I agree with JB, Brian Kamler deserves it with the goal and the defensive work he put in to preserve it.

    So hard to choose!

I was thinking about it on the way into work this morning:

    MOTM:

Adin Brown - clean sheet, spectacular saves... 'woulda been a different game' if Chicago had put one in. IE, if he wasn't solid, things could have started falling apart. Chicago wasn't exactly just standing there like the Revs in game 2.

    Very very close 2nds:

    D. Hernandez - not just for the hard work setting up the 2nd goal, but he was a HUGE part in destroying Chicago's passing game. It's like he was reading the passer's minds and intercepting nearyly everything.

    B. Kamler - 'Jack of all trades', and 'Utility Man' don't do him justice. When you can fill any role so WELL... well what's a good superlative term for that?

    J. Heaps - Made Ante, Hristo, and Peter his b***chs all nite!

    Adin...

any ONE of those goals goes in at any time and this game is completely different!....and who knows the outcome.

in my head heaps and hernandez tie just behind. hernandez made some great things happen...but it looked like he passed up some other opportunities with his head down. heaps? what can you say? he made some key stops and blocks around the box...and took one for the team so that we all had the pleasure of see one of mls' worst personalities walk off the pitch b/f the rest of his mates.

Gotta go with Hernandez. The work he did in controlling the midfield was great. And although Twellman got the second goal, Hernandez did all the work. Amazing effort with two good defenders draped all over him. Great Stuff!

face it... naming a "man of the match" negates the main thing that has put ther Revs where they now are... the fact that they are playing as a team... every oone of them has stepped up their game for the group and sacrificed as well...

    that being said:

    Brown
    Hernandez
    Kamler

    H/M - Pierce/Heaps for guts

    1. Hernandez: Let's not forget - in addition to everything else, he marked Peter Novak off the field. Novak saw more of the ball in the first thirty seconds (whew...!) then he did in the next 89-and-change.

    2. Kamler: What can you say...center back?! Give me a break! :)

    3. Brown: I know it's wrong, but I almost expect performances like this Brown at this point. He was just immense.

    Honorable mentions:
Everyone else just played their hearts out, but the two who stick out in my mind (although they didn't make the scoring sheet) are Wolde Harris and Steve Ralston. We didn't see much of Steve Ralston last night because he drew the unenviable assignment of shadowing Demarcus Beasley. Ralston looked so dog-tired by the end of the night that I thought he was going to drop.

Wolde on the other hand was assigned to play target forward while marked by two of the most physical defenders in MLS: C.J. Brown and Carlos Bocanegra. Wolde's going to need a few days in the hot-tob after this one.

These guys didn't get any goals, didn't get any assists, and won't be voted #1 on anyone's MOTM list - but without their efforts it could have been a different game. And there aren't a lot of forwards/attacking mids out their who would be willing to sacrifice their efforts doing such yeoman's work. They pretty much exemplified the effort and attitude that have gotten New England where they are this season.

Gotta put in a vote for TT. That goal was a classic example of the kind of finishing that wins close games. Breaks away from a physical battle with a defender, times a perfect run to open space and makes the perfect shot into the corner. How many times have we seen every other Rev striker in history put that shot right at the keeper or into the stands?

#1 Hernandez was HUGE - offensively and defensively. So calm in midfield, especially important with Llamosa out.

#2 Kante - he made no one's list? He's so reliable and efficient that no one notices him. I wouldn't trade him for ANY sweeper in the league (and you can put Eddie Pope in that list). He played with %70 of Rusty Pierce for a half and a brand-new partner in Brian Kamler in the 2nd, and he just took care of anything around the area. Brown's saves were ALL on outside shots, or tough angles.

#3 Brown - he just played a "nothin's goin' in this goal" game. End of story.

#4 Everyone else, an incredible team effort. Really good performances by EVERYONE. I'd like to see Soccer America ratings on this. I'd give everyone 6-8 (except maybe subs Griffith 5 and Cloutier 5).

I agree, as I posted somewhere else in a delirious haze.

But every single field player contributed to this win. I think it's the high point of Revs history...and as the Irish say, may the happiest day of your past be the saddest day of your future!

Here's to Sunday! GOOOOO SUPPPPAAAH REVS

Rodan is spot on, including the order. Heaps would be next on the list.
