I was just wondering if anybody would be interested in planning a road trip to somewhere outside of the USA at some point. I was chatting with Kyle a week or two back about big games we wanted to see and he mentioned the Superclasico and I just can't shake the idea. I want to go and I want some of you guys to go with me.

Life is short. If you don't plan to do these things, they never happen. Apatura Superclasico 2012 or Clausura 2013 .... anybody interested? That or a trip to the Nou Camp. Either will run us about $2k-$2.5k for a long weekend, flights food, hotels and tickets.

I'm actually planning on Brazil in 2014 for a week...at least that's the plan right now.

I would need some serious serious planning to make it happen, but I'm definitely interested in the idea. I've got a long list of games to see before I die, and if I happen to die attending one, well, that's how I figured it might happen anyway. :D

    FYP. Safety in numbers.

I'm gonna be catching Barca on the last weekend of La Liga. We're a little crowded in the flat, but you could probably flip a coin for use of the couch. Maybe someone could get one of those "last minute" travel deals on it, but even if they did, I doubt there are any friendly itineraries left. Still, for what it's worth, there it is.

We've also been thinking about a trip to Wembley for the FA Cup Final for years now. One of these days, we'll pull the trigger on that.

Yeah that is why I was thinking Spring 2013 -- sucks to think so far out but thats life. In limited numbers I can put folk up in London for a quick swing through Arsenal a day trip to Old Trafford (really the better option) next year but that would be 2 people max and somebody would be on a couch.

I wasn't thinking of my safety (although now I am) but I am always talking about big game atmospheres and eyes glaze over -- I want some people to share that with me. Barca is tempting but I just could not possibly swing it on such short notice without getting divorced :D Starting the season with two back to back road games cost me a lot of good will tokens. First trip to the Nou Camp? If so its going to blow your mind -- lets hope the title is on the line for you so you get the really amped up nervous version. Its not that different from a big NFL stadium but man the fans are breathtaking -- wall of noise in that place.

I think Wembley is a step down when it comes to the FA Cup Final, expensive and you never really know what game your going to get plus the two competing sides get a fairly limited allocation of seats because of all the corporate types and that knocks the atmosphere down a bit. The League Cup final is the fans final but that is not what it was .... I'd honestly save your pennies for a European Championship Qualifier and see England if you want to do Wembley, or snap up some tickets at Old Trafford or Emirates. Just something to think about --

Same here, probably two weeks though. I want to be down there for the end of the group stage and start of brackets.

I love long term plans like this, actually means I have a chance to raise enough money for the next few years to potentially pull it off. I'm down for wherever.

No, actually what happened is that by pure serendipity Barca plays the last round of La Liga at La Rosaleda (Malaga CF), which is a 15 minute train ride from Swede's flat on the Costa del Sol. That was really impossible to pass up; it just basically fell in our laps.

Wish I'd seen the old Wembley. I'm told the atmosphere just sent shivers up the spine. Anyway, if I'm going to see a club match in England, and it's not an FA Cup Final or semi, it's damn well going to be at Goodison. I'm on such thin ice as a supporter as it is, never seeing them when they were over here like 5 years in a row, that I'd have to resign altogether if I saw an Arsenal game just because I couldn't be bothered to take the initiative to park myself on a train for a couple of hours and do it right.
