Who would you consider to be the most underrated striker in the world? For me, its gotta be Marco Di Vaio. He consistently bails Juventus out exactly when they need him, if anyone watched Juve Vs. Milan last week, you know what I'm saying...

i agree on all three mentioned choices, but i will add kevin kuranyi (stuttgart & the next great germany forward) - does all the work and has about every piece in his game a striker can have - he's only just begun

    some others:
    adriano (parma)
    ilhan mansiz (besitkas)
    fredi bobic (hertha berlin)
    didier drogba (marseille)
    jose antonio reyes (sevilla)

I don´t think you can call a 21yo striker who is linked with Dortmund, Bayern and Milan and is a starter for a top-euopean nation underrated.
He made 8 goals in 16 games in Bundesliga and Champions League for a defensive oriented team, what is EXTREMELY impressive and no one underrates him(at least in germany)

    My votes would go to:
    Walter Pandiani(Depor)
    Marco DiVaio(Juve)
    Simone Inzaghie(Lazio)
    James Beattie(So´ton)
    Martin Max(Rostock)

frei scored only 3 goals in 18 games for rennes, and usually plays as a substitute

i would say di vaio and drogba might be underrated

oh i read it as reserves, sorry - yes he usually comes off the bench at rennes, but i would chalk that up to their idiot new coach who is running the side into the ground - this season frei has 3 goals in 3 appearances (2 as a sub) and he scored 4 times in 4 euro2004 qualifiers - i think he wants to go back to switzerland

Vahid Hashemian of Bochum, "The Helicopter"
This season he already has 8 goals in 10 games of which he only started in 6 games and came in as sub in the second half in the remaining games.
Last season, he had 10 goals in about 17 games, all coming in as sub.

    Hashemian is definitly underrated.

Last year he made all 34 games, but scored all his 10goals as sub(when he started he was crap).

This year he is great with 8goals and 3assists in 11 games, but this time all as starter.

The big queation is now, what happens when the opposing defensive line starts focussing more on him.
But Hashemian is not the same level the other here listed players are.

You are righ, he's not there yet and still has a long way to go but I believe he's very capable of growing and keep improving his game.

I have never seen any player jump like him and freeze in mid air, that looks so awesome.
