i like donati, pellizoli and brighi a great deal - caracciolo is sure to have learned from baggio and might make an ideal trezeguet replacement at juve... then again, so would sculli - still i gotta give it up for gilardino, who is simply one of the hottest strikers on the planet right now

Of The mentioned players by post b4.
Matteo Brighi and Giuseppe Sculli are both Juventus owned.
Juventus have also been touted as leading candidate for Alberto Gilardino.
Andrea Caracciolo and Massimo Donati are fine players but i don't see them yet ready for the big stage of Juventus.
Ivan Pelizzoli would have Juventus interest if they didn't already have the best goalkeeper in the world.

Hmm, funny, just reading some posts from awhile ago.

What can i say i'm a scary judge of talent.

All but Enzo Maresca have since debutted for ITALY NT and don't think for a second Maresca won't he's my fave of the bunch!

Guys like Caracciolo, Gilardino, De Rossi, Maresca are now some of the brightest stars in Serie A and certainly have proved to live up to their hype thus far.

Cassano, De Rossi, and Giladrino are the best to me.

Toni is 27, born May 26, 1977 so I wouldn't exactly call him an "emerging talent" although he is something of a late bloomer.

emerging doesn't have to mean young..Does it?

Nope, but the person who created this thread/poll defined it to be about players born after 1980.

Yes the person who created this poll being me, meant emerging youth talent.

Players sufficiently young enough to be hitting their primes for the WC2008 and WC2012 tourneys!

Luca Toni was doing well early season, fell off the boil a bit. Still too old to make this poll!

Almost nobody of those were grown up in Parma primavera.

    Exactly:

    Fabio Cannavaro (NAPOLI)
Marco Di Vaio (LAZIO and SALERNITANA)
    Lilian Thuram (MONACO)
    Hernan Crespo (RIVER PLATE)
Adrian Mutu (AGRES DACIA and VERONA)
    Daniele Bonera (BRESCIA)
    Alberto Gliardino (PIACENZA)
    Marco Marchionni (MONTEROTONDO and EMPOLI)
Paolo Cannavaro (NAPOLI as his brother)
    Matteo Ferrari (SPAL and INTER)
    Mark Bresciano (CARLTON and EMPOLI)
    Sebastian Frey (CANNES and INTER)
    Marco Donadel (TORINO)
Marco Amelia (ROMA and LIVORNO and never played for parma)

Tanzi just had a lot of money to spend (we all know what i'm speaking about)
Probably now best primavera team is juventus, that won its third Viareggio in a row. However two of the most intersting U18 are from Parma Primavera: Arturo Luppoli (ARSENAL) and Giuseppe Rossi (MANU).

Yes i knew most of the players came through Primavera systems of other clubs, but they became stars will playing at Parma, most if not all of the list became known to me personally while starring for PARMA!

As for Juventus, we do have great young players but too frequently pass them up for buying talent.

    Maresca is one such example.
Chiumiento and Boudianski are two out on loan who came through Primavera but don't know if they'll ever play for JUVE.

If one was to look at JUVE team now, there is no playr that has come through the academy in the starting line-up or even then reserves who get paying time!

By far Antonio Cassano. He will be Italy's best player - ever.
