MOST HATED SPORTS 1. Dogfighting 2. Pro Wrestling 3. Bullfighting 4. Pro Boxing 5. PGA Tour 6. PGA Seniors 7. LPGA Tour 8. NASCAR 9. Major League Soccer 10. ATP Men's Tennis Source: The Associated Press http://www.cnn.com/2003/US/09/27/hated.sports.ap/index.html What are yours? MLS is there!
Read this in the daily news today. Good news for soccer fans is that baseball and NBA were up by close to double (or so) on the most hated list over the last ten years, meaning that more people are turning away from those sports. Hopefully they can turn towards soccer. Doubt it, but hopefully.
They live in Detroit, own 7 pit bulls (8 counting the one bleeding to death in the garage), and have a ring in their basement.
In the listing I saw, they compared the numbers from 1993 and 2003. And "Major League Soccer" had gone up from 18.1% in 1993 to 27.6% in 2003. Of course, there was no Major League Soccer in 1993, so they probably just had a generic "soccer" category back then (a la "dogfighting" and "pro wrestling"). If so, the increase probably includes at least some soccer fans who just follow international soccer or women's soccer or high school soccer or whatever but just can't stand MLS. It'd be real interesting to see what ALL the choices were.
I guess if you think about the numbers that hate "Left Turn" it does translate into the numbers that actually love it. Point taken. Don't hate me because I'm beautiful.
I feel eh about MLS nowadays. It's not on tv here often enough for me to pay a lot of attention to it.
Cricket is my runaway most hated sport (Then NASCAR... that is a joke... "LOOK AT THEM GO IN CIRCLES!). I don't count bullfighting, dogfighting, etc as sports
I don't mind Cricket, but NASCAR is a joke. Another sport I don't like is Curling. Load of b***s that.
I can't stand American football, baseball, NASCAR (aka glorified stock car racing), golf, heavyweight boxing and horse racing (mainly because it's ALWAYS on TV). If I could, I'd wish these sports were never invented.
Horse racing is always on tv? outside of the big races (half dozen or so a year) I cant think of how often I have seen the races on regular tv or basic cable. And I follow the Horses seriously (I actually subscribe to the race feeds on my dish). if you think the horses are on to much... maybe you should move out of the OTB.
