    Must have hurt it diving.

Okay, so this means we have at least 4 games of either Mathis and either Magee or Woly up front, or we put Amado and Cleetus in mid and go with Magee and Woly up front, which doesn't seem too likely.

I know he scored last week, but I think running a kid out there will only frustrate cleetus. Put Mathis-Woly up front and bring Magee in as a sub. Woly is a bigger target than Magee and a more seasoned player at this point.

Mathis and Magee should start up front, and Guevera should play behind them. Magee and Mathis just need a good midfielder to get them the ball so they can click and be effective, and Guevera should be able to fill that role.

Hey, good idea!! Now we'd have el Lobo and el Tanque!! Now that we're at it, lets sign Henry "el Ferry" Zambrano, Orlando "el Flaco" Perez, and Pedro "el socks" Alvarez!! :D

They better sign another forward. Ziade did good as the left back. Better to pick up another forward who can also play midfield.

Magee should start for one simple reason. Mathis needs someone who will run for his passes. Wolyniec does not have the speed to do that. Magee will keep on running, and Mathis can spray those balls. Plus, dont' forget that last game Mathis made 3 or 4 very long runs to get into space, but the ball wasn't given to him. No one commented on that.

Magee and Mathis up top, with Gueverra playing almost as a withdrawn forward (similar to Nowak) is the best option. Gueverra can score.

We are really forming a core similar to that of the early Chicago team. Gueverra=Nowak Mathis and Moreno is better then any combo Chicago has put up front (if they play well). Also the defensive midfield duo of Clark and Williams is very similar to the Marsch-Armas duo. Plus Pope in the back. I like what is going on with the rest of the team though.

Anyway, hopefully Moreno comes back in full health.

I would bet my house that John Wolyniec is faster in a 60-yard dash than Mike Magee. I'm not saying who should start, but Wolyniec is not slow. He's gotten behind the defense more in his minutes on the field than any Metro forward. Maybe it's John's pastey white complexion that's got you all fooled. The man is not slow.

He got behind, because he made the smart run. Maybe for that reason he'll start. Who knows? I just thought that Magee had a better first step on Wolyniec. I don't think that either player is better then the other right now, but I do believe they are both competent players for MLS.

What a surprise, one Pollack defending another...

Magee's also white, the last time I looked. And I'm interested with what someone can do running around with a ball on their foot, not in a race.

I don't mind Wolyniec coming in sometime after the 70-minute mark. He's a big guy and can supply a little muscle to tired defensemen. But I want Magee starting while Jamie's out.

i think i have to agree with those who want magee to start while jaime's out...not as good as carrieri right now, but in the same way, he'll run around off the ball trying to get open and we could really use...also, this is the time to get the rookie some serious playing time, ideally he shouldnt be starting, but given the circumstances that it's early in the season, and we really don't have a better alternate...gotta go magee...not a knock on wolyniec, i just think he's a good sub to close the game out...

With Moreno's history of chronic injuries the past few years and now this my gut feeling says we've been Balboa'd again. I don't think he will come back with any production for us as he hasn't showed much since preseason. Age and injuries have taken it's toll on Jaime. Looked slow before he was hurt.

Better start looking for another FA at this point who plays forward or we will get screwed again. Maybe we can apply his salary due to some MLS rule about injured FAs that come and go sometimes. MLS rules are not black and white in this regard though some fail to acknowledge this.

hahah, now that is worthwhile humor on the boards...i'd love to read an explanation on MLSNet.com about our latest cap relief/exemption and it say acquiring a player that "comes and goes"...good times...

here's what i think though, it's a little disturbing that bradley says they knew about the nagging injuries with his back so far, so why play him?...then again, if we were told before the season that moreno was injured and be on the bench for a few games for that reason, we'd all say "here we go again"...it's really a lose-lose, jaime did look slower when he was playing, and i admit i thought he was being lazy on the field, but i suppose he and the team were hoping he'd play through them as to not disappoint the fans...we can really just hope that he's not rushed back, if it takes the full 6 weeks for him to be 100%, so be it, but he's still only 29 years old, he's proven himself in the league, and is ridiculously talented...no reason to give up on him just yet

one more thing, in hindsight, would you still make the trade with DC?...absolutely, with or without moreno, you could argue richie and pope have been our best defensive players, up there with jolley
