We already know about Pellegrino Matarazzo and Derek Phillips, who are on the first team at SV Wehen. There's also a Gabriel Cuomo, born in 1984, who moved up from their youth to the 2. Team this year.

But I noticed a few other interesting names today:
Kevin Simmons (2. Team, born in 1983)
    Kevin Detloff (C-Youth)

Anyone know more about them -- particularly Simmons?

My guess is if they are American, they are from the Large military community in Wiesbaden just a few miles down the road, and probably play for the American High School team as well..just a possibility

Unless these guys qualify for some kind of European passport through dual-citizenship, I'd wager that this is a "regionleague" club.

There have been alot of changes recently witihn Germany regarding non-european player qualifying slots in each division. I "think" that the Bundesliga and 2nd division now allow only one non-european player (foreign) per team. Those rules don't apply to the 3rd division (region liga?) and below.

Regionalligen Sud. Looks like the team is currently hovering above the drop on goal differential.

    It's Regionalliga as lurking said.

There were changes recently as the Secretary of the Interior - who also is responsible for sports - was fed up that the reserves of pro teams are cheating with the rule that only pro clubs may sign non-EU foreigners. Rule since this season is that D3 clubs and lower may not sign non-EU foreigners (Bundesliga and 2.Bundesliga of course can) and pro clubs simply signed those guys for their pro team and sent them down to the reserves. This was forbidden now, so that only "complete" players may be signed for the pro teams now; the development opportunities over reserves and youth teams are not possible anymore. I'm still not sure whether this also applies to US citizens as some source said that they are treated equal to EU citizens - but I couldn't find a proof for this theory yet (in particular this was rumoured with Adam Maurer when he signed with Verl in August; he might also have a German passport with this name though).

So do you know anything about those players, Olaf? I sent an email to the team's website but those things never seem to get a response.
