Llamosa to Metros? / More on Mario / Hejduk to the Crew http://www.ussocceruk.com/modules.p...e=article&sid=186&mode=thread&order=0&thold=0 (On Llamosa) "The New York/New Jersey MetroStars could become an option, depending on the defender's salary demands, as will be the case should his first MLS club, DC United, express and interest as well." (On Hejduk) "It is understood that Columbus will not have to use an allocation - which they would have to trade from with another MLS club - to land the American, as the Crew are the only team in the running for his services." Guess Hejuk is going to the Crew also without and allocation because no other team is after him. So what makes us need an allocation to get Mario? No other MLS team is after him.
An allocation is, basically, a sum of money. The Metro allocation (the Diallo allocation) is worth $75,000. That money can be used to cover a transfer fee, a signing bonus, or can simply be used as cap relief. Mario, since he's supposedly on a 'free', does not necessarily have to be an allocation. But we all know Metro are tight against the cap, so there's a good chance they're going to need to use that allocation (aka that 75g) somewhere along the line here.
Of course, the rumors are about the fancy restaurant slated to be built into the stadium in Harrison - here's the Mario we're working on acquiring.
Throw in an extra $30 for a pair of dockers as well. Anyone notice Molto Mario always wears shorts? Buy him some pants, please!
