Hey, can anyone help me? I can't do any good goalkicks coz they're all SOOO low! I can't seem to scoop the ball up. Help please. Thanks.
put the ball at the edge of the goal box, and instead of kicking out into the field, practice kicking it over the crossbar. It's only like 6 yards away and it can get pretty tough, but it helped me add height and distance.
When you hit a goal kick your trying to find the right trajectory...don't you think that your goal kick (unless your incredibly strong) will have a very high and looping trajectory? My 2 cents is lean back more and watch the ball.
The kid wants height. This will teach him how to do that but also where to hit it right. I can now hit a goal kick 60 yards that goes no higher than thirty feet because learning how to put height on it helped me learn how to hit it as well. I don't rely so much on height now. Maybe I'm an weird learner but maybe it'll help the kid.
as you start the kick, your plant leg should be slightly bent at the knee. as you hit (under the ball) that leg should straighten out. that should help some. following through is important... i almost do a 180 when i do goal kicks. most of all practice. if you watch professional keepers take goal kicks, they all seem to have different form. watch a few and try some different ways for yourself, see how you're most comfortable and most accurate and most distance
