Here, it's clear that he is, at a minimum, considering giving OZ the axe:

    www.nj.com/metrostars/ledger/index.ssf?/base/sports-0/1032858647144945.xml.

Also, if he had signed Des Walker, Chung would still be a Metro, and Diallo doesn't fit in the scheme anymore.

We get an allocation for not making the playoffs. We have two first round draft picks. We have some cap space now that Tab is retired and Balboa either won't be re-signed or will be re-signed but at a lower salary.

The opportunity is there to improve the team dramatically, let's see if the Metros can take advantage.

"I'll take a couple of weeks to decide."

Here we go again with these 30 day announcements.

Zambrano, one of the highest-paid coaches in Major League Soccer at approximately $200,000 per year

Now we know why Nick won't fire him. He's got 2 years left on his contract so they would have to eat it.

"Octavio is a class act and he communicates with the players very well."

Yeah, that's why players like Diallo, Faria and Ramos would storm off the field and pout after being subbed.

"I'm not going to make a rash decision. If I do something, it will be pretty quick."

When translated on babelfish.com, Nick is saying that he'll ask OZ to "resign" in order to retain his dignity.

"I'm undecided on Diallo, whether or not he fits into our scheme of things," Sakiewicz said. "He's a foreign player who eats up a lot of money.

This means we'll see the "Return of the Colombians" (coming to a theatre near you).

"Down the line, if the league exists or not, or the MetroStars exist or not, which I hope they do forever, soccer's still going to be the most-played sport" says Ramos.

This is just the kind of thing you want the Metros next "community relations" person to be saying.

The MetroStars will honor Ramos prior to the first home game next season.

    Whoop-dee-do.

I couldn't believe this quote myself when I read it...I also like the stat of him missing 100+ games in his 7 year career.....thats is some 'bad' luck....

Does this make any... ANY sense? He know what not what he is saying maybe?

"I'm undecided. He's a really good coach and that's why this analysis will be very difficult. Octavio [Zambrano] is a class act and he communicates with the players very well. I'm not going to make a rash decision. If I do something, it will be pretty quick. I'll take a couple of weeks to decide."

    Coach Ramos?

This is just Nick doin some face-savin spin-doctoring. His job is just as much on the line as Oz. He's pointing some fingers away from himself.

Hey nick... if you knew these problems..why did it take you till after the season to figure them out?
