    Re: Pregunta para los ticos

    Gilberto "El Tuma" Martinez

    Brescia, in Italy.

Probably the most solid defender in our national team ever.

From stories I've read recently, Sampson will probably be there in the next couple of weeks. He's supposed to go to Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica and Brazil, I think.

As far as the Saprissa players go, I don't think it would be too likely to see any Saprissa players headed the Galaxy's way. I would think Jorge Vergara would stop that from happening, given that such moves would benefit his chief MLS rival.

More Sampson travel info is here ... along with the countries you list, he'll also be in Honduras.

I think it would be great to have more CONCACAF players in the league. MLS is steadily improving but right now the play is all about rnning hard and being physical. If we can mix in a bit of flash and skill then I am all for it.

MLS needs more midfielders and strikers and I think young CONCACAF lads would do the trick.

I'd like to see the Panamanian midfielder, Medina in the league for 2005., or possibly Ricky Lewis from Grenada, both would be excellent picks for any of the 12 clubs.

Galaxy is interested in costarican midfielder Walter Centeno, maybe the most important player of Saprissa in the last years

Does anyone know if Douglas Sequeira is a relation of Alejandro Sequeira the total disaster that Tampa Bay had in the 1999 season?

Centeno, isn't he like 30 or older, MLS has seen to many costa rican "superstars" come into the league and falter, and never really adjust to the MLS style of play. Maybe he could be different. But I'm skepitcal.

They are brothers. But they are completly different, douglas is a tall strong central defender or defensive midfielder, he usually scores good headers, scored almost 10 goals on the last season

Alejandro Sequeira is just the worst player that i've seen in my life, this season he has hired by saprissa and hopefuly fired in the next weeks. If you were a tampa fan in 1999 you might understand my frustration everytime that i see him play for saprissa, he just sux

That should be interesting. I hope they add more flavor to the style of play.

Best of luck, considering that Brenes is currently contracted to Real Salt Lake, not the Metrostars.

    Also worth mentioning.
Ivan Guerrero and Sammy Caballero are about to sign with Denver and Chicago respectevely. Both Houndurans spent last season playing in Uruguay, Ivan a left winger played with penarol and Sammy, central defender with nacional.

Now brenes might go to Alajuela, traded for Central Defenders Luis Marin or Pablo Chinchilla....
Chinchilla is also rumored to go Galaxy...
Michael Umana is only waiting for his work VISA to go to L.A.
