I've noticed that there are two (well actually 3) editions of this out on dvd. I'm interested if anyone has or knows the differences between the Collector's Edition 2 disc set http://www.dvdplanet.com/product_listing.asp?productid=34807&format=DVD and the Special Collectors Edition http://www.dvdplanet.com/product_listing.asp?productid=20236&format=DVD There's obviously a price difference ($15.00 flippin' bucks) but descriptions I've read at DVD Planet and Amazon both seem to indicate they have the same material and confusingly, that they both have two discs. If anyone could shed any light on this I'd certainly appreciate.
The more expensive one comes with a paperback book of the screenplay (even though the screenplay is also one of the special features on Disc 1). The DVDs themselves are identical.
I know it probably pains you to leave the your native land and knowing that I resist the urge to bash your fair state (though to be fair Austin is quite nice and I've been known to indulge at Herbert's Taco Hut in San Marcos), but when/if you get to town we'll put you on a strict regimine of the AFI Silver Theater and overpriced micro-beer. Works a treat.
Er...beer. I think top shelf was Sam Adams Summer Nonsense, which was good enough under the circumstances.
I read recently there's going to be a stage version of Holy Grail in New York soon. I'd make a trip to NYC for that.
Classic move. I got the DVD a couple of weeks back. I especially liked the selection for the hearing impaired. I haven't gone through all the extras yet.
Speaking of Monty Python, "Meaning of Life" is out on DVD now, isn't it? I remember enjoying it back in high school, but I can only remember that scene with the very large man in the restaurant.
A Python thread without a quote? "How do you know he's the King?" "He's the only one who doesn't have *#*#*#*#*# all over him."
Watched the dvd last night, worth every penny and I've only made it through a fraction of the extras. The touring the sites 25 years later documentary is worth shelling out the dough. Two thumbs up. "Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the people, not some farcical aquatic ceremony"
The "Meaning of Life" has just been given the special-edition treatment. Aside from wafer thin mints, the musical number on Catholic attitudes to contraception was also very memorable.
