Will San José win its first meeting between the two cities since the days of the Montreal Manic?

Will Montreal stand triumphant after the first visit from San José in the MLS era?

The Earthquakes improving on their league-leading run? The Impact further rising in its league debut season?

    Discuss.

    GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!!

This will likely be the first game this season in which the San Jose Earthquakes players will wear the white uniforms.

I was just visiting Montreal! Clearly I fail at vacation scheduling. If anyone is traveling there for the game, there's a great Middle Eastern restaurant that I can recommend.

I will be traveling to the Montreal game. My first visit, so very interested in your recommendations.

For anyone thinking of going at the last minute, some folks dropped out, so I have some extra game tickets in the away section. Quakes fans who can get there (those of you on the east coast?) would likely have free game tix. Email me before Thursday at dpg@robinsonwood.com.

Never relised we hav'nt worn the whites yet! I like our whites, there pretty great :D
Montreal is the kind of team that one week there thrash someone 4 or 5 and the next there lose 4 or 5 both they definatly have some decent players especially the 2 centre mids, there have the capacity to hurt you if you don't play well, where as teams that truly suck you can turn them over even if you have an off day. Definatly gonna be watching this one

Bernardez and Chavez called up for Honduras friendly on Wednesday.

Looks like the Montreal game could be a lost cause. No Gordon, Chavez, Bernardez, Beita and Wondo? Maybe Shea is out with a hamstring injury? It will be a real demonstration of the quality of the bench: Ramiro, Opara, Khari, Mehdi, and Garza, n'est-ce pas? Maybe they should throw Bingham in there as well.

    From the Quakes website:
My guess is that the wonder known as modern air travel will also allow Chavez and Bernadez to be available on Sunday.

It's times like these that I like Quakes players to stay under the radar. Good news is, no matter the result, San Jose will remain on top. It'll be a rough go, but it should be an interesting match if for no other reason than seeing some of the fringe guys getting some first team minutes.

When people were talking a few weeks ago about the lack of shedule congestion i think we all forgot about the internatiional friendlys & the games like Swansea & San Luis. That's three extra midweek games, when you're two thirds of the way thru the season it would be nice to avoid.

BTW Montreal got a one zero win on New England last night, the Revs are sturggling but still have some good plyers, so nice road win & shut out for the, should be a good game ,i'm going for 2-1 Quakes win.

This is why I'm glad we're playing San Luis rather than a "name brand" opponent. Great opportunity to play the B squad rather than having to waste the A squad. I just hope all the guys called up will be back and starting, otherwise we're boned.

Considering that the San Jose Earthquakes aren't scheduled to play any regular season games in either D.C. or New England, will this be the only time we'll see the white uniforms this season?

At least this game will be played in Saputo Stadium which has natural grass rather than in Olympic Stadium and its fake turf. :)

Good for us, bad for them. Their attendance has really fallen off since they moved outside for some reason.

Yes. But they were getting crowds inside the big Owe that at their smallest were still bigger than Saputo's capacity. Now they've dropped into the 14-15k range. I can only surmise that French Canadians hate the outdoors or real grass.
