I don't doubt it. I was very impressed just in the first 2-3 days of watching it. They seem to have hit the pavement running, and feels as if they have already been here for a decade.

Most likely than not, they'll be in way a lot more homes within a year or two.
I would be surprised if they have not already struck some kind of a conditional deal/agreement with MLS for beyond 2014.

I think that Fiosfan was making a playful allusion to MLS's Rapids.

If they put more money on the table for MLS rights, MLS would be a fool not to take the offer.
Come 2014 all three networks will be fighting for MLS rights with lots of cash on the table.

Not to mention some potentially HUGE primetime 2014 World Cup ratings, boosting the value of MLS(Rio is 1 hour ahead of NY time). I think this next WC will blow away all others in ratings.

There will not be many prime time matches in 2014 WC. Most matches will start around 3 EST or so.

True, but some group stage games will be prime-time and you can bet those will pull in the ratings. The weekend games will be massive as well. There also will be 5 weekends with great start times. We have a huge population of young soccer players on Summer break too.

I expect big things and this years Confederations Cup will only help prepare the US market further. People will be able to plan out their schedule to watch their important matches.

Here's the times for the 2014 WC Kick-off's
    Opening match: 4pm ET
Group stage matches: 12pm-3pm ET and 6pm-9pm ET
    Round of 16 / Quarterfinals: 12pm-4pm ET
    Semifinals: 4pm ET
Match for 3rd place: 4pm ET
    Final: 3pm ET

Depends on what their distribution is like by 2014. I believe MLS needs to be on basic cable. More money is nice, but there's a trade off when you have to resort to a special tier.

I don't think beIN will make basic cable unless they start aggressively acquiring rights to other sports properties outside of soccer. They say they want to be a sports channel, not just a soccer channel. If they start throwing their money around in other sports, things will get interesting...
