I would not call it disgraceful, but distasteful for sure. The LA RiotSquad did something like this, but worse because it involved blow-up dolls and more. That one event caused the RiotSquad to not be shown regularly on TV even 'til now. If you make something that would piss off sponsors, then you chance that your supporters group will lose representation on TV.

some things are acceptable, even borderline from a supporter- this one is NOT! it sheds a bad light on all TFC supporters and the club- hopefully people will quickly discern that this person is just a complete idiot at the least and a sexually distasteful, nut bar at the worst-- you cant stop STUPIDITY, but i sure hope he grows up or doesnt breed

This is an interesting one. I think most would agree the depiction of fellatio in the context is distasteful. But what about chants/songs that come close to saying the same things? We had a discussion on the Galaxy boards about stamping out the "********" chants because of homophobia and I wondered if the same thing could apply to chants of "YOU SUCK", since I have always thought that was a reference to performing fellatio that could be viewed as homophobic in the context (I was outnumbered on that one).

Weren't they dressed up in Chivas shirts and were the LARS' take on the Chivas Girls?

As for the Toronto tifo, I think that somebody didn't understand their audience. A lot of people in a crowd of ~30,000 people are going to take offense at tifo with that on it. It doesn't bug me at all and I wouldn't complain, but I ain't gonna be shocked when somebody (or a lot of somebodies) do complain to the TFC front office about it and TFC decides to shithammer the jokers responsible.

The origin of the phrase you suck technically came around the turn of the 20th century and referred to sucking eggs, which I guess is really unpleasant? I can definitely see where someone can make the connection to a sex act, especially considering "that sucks" not so distant cousin, "that blows".

I definitely don't think its in the same class as shouting "put0" at the top of your lungs. Which is a blatant homophobic slur.

That TIFO in Toronto was clearly over the line though. From a mysogonistic standpoint, it creates an environment that is hostile to women....who last time I checked, actually attend MLS games.

78K Chicagoans self-identify as ethnic Italian and 120K as German, which trails only Irish and Polish among European ethnicities. The Midwest is very German. 20% of Illinois residents and 44% of Wisconsin residents identify as German-American, compared with a national share of about 15%.

Of course, Toronto fans are well below their standards.

As if the FHRITP was bad enough for TFC, this just ads onto it.

not only that tifo was unacceptable, it took away from all the hard work a lot of TFC supporters put towards creating this tifo.

That team is in serious trouble. I don't think it exists next season. This was a case of the league and owners not conducting due diligence; I don't see any problems which were fundamentally different from what could be drawn from the experiences of other teams or simple logical extrapolation. Attendance is about what should be expected--actually pretty good for a city that size that also has a USL team. Travel costs shouldn't have been a surprise. Were their administrative or advertising costs somehow far off of what was initially expected? Were player salaries high? Simply put, this should not have happened. If both RayOKC and Fort Lauderdale are playing in 2017, I'll be quite surprised.

I'll be honest...at least once a day since the official announcement on the 19th, the thought has crossed my mind..."I'm sooooooo glad to be done with the NASL after this season..."
