The Guardian MLS playoffs: San Diego rout Timbers, advance to Western semifinals Portland's marking within the box was lacking in the first half and they fell two goals behind in about 15 minutes. This whole game looked strange to me, it was rather loose-goosey for a knockout game.
Sports Illustrated MLS Commissioner Rules on MLS Cup Favorite’s Stadium Relocation Plans what i know so far from the summer news and public knowledge: as i write, Don Garber is in Vancouver talking with Province and City government leaders, the leaders PAVCO who run BC Place Stadium and Whitecap owners/potential new owners Vancouver is a very good soccer market, has gripped the city's imagination/interest- especially since Muller's arrival (the game vs LAFC on November 22 will probably be a sell-out of 54 000)- and the ownership group have said they are staying and looking for new investors- both the Cap lease at BC Place and the proposed land at Hastings Park - about 5 kms from the DT Core (old horse track and land is ready to go out in a suburb area to rebuild)- have leases running out in 2025 and 2026 respectively its crunch time for MLS in Vancouver- Garber isnt here for a holiday- hoping for good news- will it be BC Place or a new SSS at Hastings Park?
This so called "Insane Bicycle Kick" in a Blizzard storm is weak sauce, low quality soccer excitement. I know Vancouver has a very large Asian population, but how much of it is specifically South Korean? Because if it’s significant, that atmosphere is going to make the game soar. Like I said elsewhere, I think that match is the real final; either would be favored over SDFC or Minnesota, for sure. i call it the icicle bicycle
I am not saying that both Vancouver and LAFC are not very good teams, but SDFC won the west and has home field advantage, where SD won their first two home playoff games. San Diego beat LAFC twice and beat and tied Vancouver this year. Not sure I would make either a favorite over SDFC.
