Hey Bordelais, if Monaco does get relegated, that would mean Bordeaux would take 3rd spot and an ECL qualification.
As for who would go throught instead of Monaco, I assume it would be the 4th team in L2, which is Lorient.

But, I don't think they will be relegated, these are pressure tactics for teams to get their sh!t together.

Monaco's prince Albert ready to help struggling club

MONACO, May 29 (Reuters) - Monaco's Prince Albert said on Thursday the principality would act to help its debt-ridden soccer club and prevent its relegation to the French second division on financial grounds.

The seven-times French champions, who finished second in the French Ligue 1 this season and won the League Cup, were demoted to Ligue 2 on Wednesday because of debts estimated at 53 to 87 million euros ($62.42-102.5 million).

"It's sad and frustrating not to have been able to find a solution before the deadline set by the League," Prince Albert told journalists on Friday.

"But there's still hope and we will fight to find investors willing to help us.

"You know how close I am to Monaco's soccer club and I can't accept to let down players who have proved their attachment to Monaco."

"With my father we are going to see how we can help the club. We have ideas and I'm confident. We'll do everything we can to save the club," he added.

Direct help from the palace in the principality could pose problems since the French League limits the level of subsidy clubs are entitled to receive from local authorities.

But Prince Albert made it clear the current club management would have to answer for the current situation.

"The club's management cannot compare with the sporting results and club officials will have to draw consequences from what is an obvious failure," he said.

I don't think there's any doubt that in the end Prince Albert won't let Moanco get relegated. Somehow, someway sufficient enough money will be found to help the club. Plus remember they'll get plenty of money for next year's Champion's League.
