And then Beltran unfortunately touches it and Acevedo can't do anything.

Meh. Why not let Flores play at least a half hour if not an entire half? Why not let Galdames play either. I get it, you gotta feel the shirt and all that, but this generation of players has options that others don’t have so there’s an element of recruiting involved. Would have liked to see Flores feeding Gimenez some passes. Oh Tata.

Fair result with what both teams showed tonight. Though the goals we conceded came off stupid individual mistakes by Silva & then Lira

The good: Acevedo, Araujo, and Santi

The bad: Silva, Cordova, Antuna, and the defense in general for the most part that were distracted & committed stupid mistakes

Marcelo looked decent and showed flashes for what little minutes he played. Dude should have at least gotten 20-30 min of playing time

The year is finally over. Time to put this shit year behind us and focuses on 2022. Hopefully going forward we start seeing more young players and start phasing out the likes of Chaka, Gallardo, Guardado, etc.

What are you talking about? It was Salvador Reyes who lost the ball and made the stupid mistake not Lira. He was super mediocre too.

Ni que estuvieramos jugando por el campeonato. Don't know why he only gave him 10 mins.

The big change of the game was subbing in Erik Lira for Alan Cervantes, who was garbage. Cervantes doesn't have NT level and Lozano's best move was not taking him to Tokyo. Salvador Reyes was very mediocre and him and Poncho Gonzalez are proof that there are no magic solutions. People kept asking for them as they were the true answers and when having a chance, they wasted it clearly. And this is a Chile team that isn't a super physical powerhouse so them not keeping up is concerning for them.

Also insane that we didn't see anything from Galdames so Eduardo Aguirre and Mauro Lainez could get in and do their casper. At least we saw Flores and that Tata didn't wasted a sub in Malagon.

Haven't been following the youth players like I used to or any ligamx and it shows cus I had no clue who 90% of these players were

Tronco or not Silva brought physicality on set pieces something Mexico lacks how old is he? Hopefully they can develop him

First time watching Araujo and the hype on him is a bit much but talent is there and he needs add some more muscle

That Santi dude looks very promising how old is he?

Also seemed like the Chilean players knew about the Flores hype cus every chance they had they took it to him

    Overall meh of a game

This. The time of developing Silva may have passed although maybe he becomes a future Cata. He's the prime example of going to Europe and developing. Went from a guy in the U23s from the 2015 Pan Am to a perennial bench player in Mexico and maybe now looking to be a starter. Somebody tell Haret Ortega to pay attention.

Yeah, guys like him, Israel Reyes, Victor Guzman and Olivas should do everything in their power to eventually land a move abroad.

Araujo and Gimenez are both 20 and both were two of the best three or four players along with Acevedo and I actually like Olivas who just turned 21.

Problem I still see are the midfielders. That’s our current problem right now. There’s young prospects at every position except the CM spots.

It’s unfortunate about Pizzuto and his injuries. He’s the young CM Mexico needs.

Also, I doubt Silva becomes a starter, at least not in America. They're courting Unai Bilbao from ASL and I remember a rumor claiming they were interested in Israel Reyes.

Silva is too old. He can’t pass or defend. He was absolutely terrible tonight and he’s been a benchwarmer for a while now. After he left Toluca he warmed Cruz Azuls bench, eventually moved to Xolos and got some time but still not impressive, and now with America to warming the bench again.

Flores needs to bulk up if he ever wants to sniff the EPL. Too much of a light weight and it showed against Chile. Why can’t Mexico implement a good weight training program , we are overmatched in almost every single International game. It would seem easy to fix but nothing is ever done.
