Caught the tail end of an interview with Moffat that was part of the "USL Breakaway 2008" show on Fox Soccer Channel. It's in the first 15 minutes of the show if you look for a replay. Looked like it was about his transition to MLS and how USL helped him and what it means for other USL players, etc.
Just as I have trouble, at times, understanding a Scots accent or some working class English, do the folks across the pond have trouble understanding a person from Boston, or New York, or the South? Anyone have some insight to this?
I would guess not as much because of the popularity of US music/tv/movies. If they can understand a hard Irish accent they can probably understand a hard New England accent. However, the southern english I worked with had a harder time understanding the Scots than I did. Oh and listening to a Welshman try and do a NYC accent was hilarious.
