This will be my last post as a moderator in the DCU forum. A number of factors have brought me to this point. One factor is the simple fact that my new job has prevented me from spending as much time as I would like performing my duties. I can no longer browse the site every day and make sure things are running smoothly. Of course the other fact is that I have grown tired of dealing with the crap. Being called a nazi was the final straw. I want to say good-bye to some of the great posters that frequent this board (Jose, ds39heon, Cweed, Janderson, Lowecifer, K, Sachin, Tron, and other I am forgetting) and the great mods that brought me on (Merdian and Knave) and made my tenure a pleasent one (revelation). I have made some great friends on this board and I look forward to seeing you all on April 19.
He must have collected enough jerseys for his cloning project to start. Watch out world. See you in April. Sachin
although not a regular poster i am a big fan... i am sure the dc fan's will miss ya jh6 hope all is well in the new work environment... any new jersey's i should know about?
Jobs like that really suck! As someone who does a lot of volunteer stuff, I appreciate your efforts. Enjoy your new life as a "normal" DCU fan!
Thanks again for all the effort you put into getting us the Tottenham programs and banners. Great job on these boards too....
I am sorry to hear that you are stepping down as a moderator, as I thought you were a very good moderator. I hope you continue to post, as quality posts are always welcome in the DC United forum. I also hope that people refrain from posting personal insults.
Sorry to see you go JH6. As the rest of the moderators, you have performed your duties admirably, and with aplomb. See you at the opener.
Thanks for your work, Douglas. Let's all hope that if there is a replacement they will keep up the high standard of moderating set forth by JH6 and the rest of our crew. Also, thanks for the water at the All-star game, I was struggling man. Without that I might've passed out before I could've run onto the field to miss that shot.
Often times, I read on these boards more than I post, but I think we'll all miss you. I enjoy reading thoughts from better posters than myself, you were certainly one of them. Will you still be posting at all?
Thanks for the kind words JH6.. I certainly hope this doesn't mean you won't be perusing during the season because we could always use your objective and level-headed opinions... We'll see ya at RFK.....
I'm very sorry to see you stepping down as a mod. Chico has mentioned this several times, and I agree, that the DC United Board--in large part because of it's moderators--is not only the best board on BigSoccer, but light years above other boards on other sites. It cuts the BS, trolling, name calling, etc. and allows us to talk about soccer. I really like that. JH6, you've done an excellent job as a mod, and I hope you reconsider being a mod when you have the time. P.S. This doesn't have anything to do with DC United deciding not to offer John Harkes a contract does it? -Tron
Doug, Thanks for your efforts moderating this forum and with the Project Spurs program and banner. All of us regulars appreciate your efforts. Hats off to Knave, Kelly and Revelation for the great job they do here. Bill
Hey JH6! Don't forget me! The one that recommended you become a mod in the first place. Sorry to see you go.
Damn. It's like a morgue in here. Which, with Doug's personality, fits... Just kidding. Although work is a poor excuse.
Job?! Come on, man. Anything I might think of to say here has been said already (and probably said better than I would have). You were a quality moderator and you'll still be a quality poster. You and the rest of the mods always did a great job keeping things on topic, and never once have I seen a rash, poorly thought-out action by any of you. Sorry to see that you have to step down, but I can definitely understand why you're doing so. Hope to see you at some games this year.
Thanks for your work here Doug. Save your energy for abusing the opposing team as they step onto the field at RFK.
This offer also applies to you, sir. https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&postid=776534#post776534 You have shown a lot of class. dadman
"Oh, he looks so natural...just like himself." Hope work gives you time to make it to the games. John
I will still try and get in and post and hopefully my post count will increase as the season comes closer.
