Probably has much to do with his status in Egypt. Apparently (the year after his first with us) he received a million votes from people writing his name onto the Egyptian ballot in some kind of protest.. as I recall at the time.....
Mohamed Salah: a bridge between worlds in Liverpool The Egyptian is more than simply a role model in his adopted home, he speaks to the city’s broader mythology https://www.theguardian.com/football/2025/apr/26/mohamed-salah-a-bridge-between-worlds-in-liverpool
Only Harry Kane (213 for Spurs) and Sergio Aguero (184 for Manchester City) have scored more goals for a single Premier League club than Mohamed Salah has for Liverpool (183 - level with Wayne Rooney for Manchester United).
Mo has 18 assists this year. top in the PL, second place has 11 (Murphy, NU_ but could have had a lot more. what a player .... https://www.reddit.com/r/LiverpoolF...p&utm_name=ioscss&utm_source=share&utm_term=1
from 2018 to 2025 Mo has won the FWA POTY 3 times. nobody else has won it more than twice in that period. and he is tied with Henry for the most FWA awards ever.

Good on you, Mo! Great on you. “Can you tell us how he died?” F.ucking UEFA. Solidarity payments to Russian clubs, nothing to Ukrainian clubs because they’re in a war zone.
Off field value added ....... For Mac Allister, Salah’s approach sets the tone for the entire squad under Arne Slot. “Mo sets the tone for everyone at Liverpool. He is the best professional I’ve ever seen. He’s a monster,” he said. Alexis Mac Allister Heaps Praise on 'Monster' Liverpool Teammate
A great write up about Salah's roots in a small farming village and his legacy in Egypt as a whole due to his success at Liverpool. We're going to miss him while he's at AFCON in December. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/cx2xlk74llno
Starting to slowly see some mainstream articles finally appreciating how good he has been and for how long - no more of the begrudging plaudits.
If I could rep that twice - I would. Christ - some of these 2nd tier media clowns (at every club) are such a pain in the face & the arse.....
Mo’s doing this a lot. Good for him. I don’t have X - did Anfield Edition reply? Edit: Nevermind - probably made it worse
Egypt have confirmed that Liverpool star Mohamed Salah will be rested for their friendly clash with Cape Verde on Monday.
a reasonable summary of the situation... https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...-betrays-teammates-and-hastens-liverpool-exit
I read the interview. I didn't realize Mo was such a diva and spoiled brat. The only thing that he said in his interview that I can embrace is that nobody is above the Club. I think he has things totally backwards when he said because of all he's done for the club, he doesn't need to prove himself day in and out. I feel for all the money he's getting paid he should be embarrassed with his output. I never heard him speak when things weren't going well during this year to take some responsibility. He only speaks to voice complaints like he did last year when he wanted a big contract. I think he was benched because he doesn't help defensively and we needed defensive stability after giving up 4 and 3 goals the previous two games he started. He also wasn't contributing anything in attack. He told Slot las year that can't play defense and have enough energy to attack. I think the attitude that you deserve anything except opportunity in a club like LFC or any team in any sport is the type of attitude that rots the culture of the organization. Reading the interview altered my opinion of Mo 180 degrees. Sometimes ignorance is bliss and I almost wish I didn't read it because of how much I liked Mo as a player and who I thought he was as a person.
Already bored of this. Sell him and let's move on as we have a problem on the right side that won't be fixed until he's replaced full time. He's always going to be a legend and top 5 ever Liverpool player, regardless.
