This is the sixth Premier League season in which Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah has both scored and assisted 10+ goals (2017-18, 2019-20, 2021-22, 2022-23, 2023-24 and 2024-25); the most of any player in the competition’s history (overtaking Wayne Rooney’s five).

Mohamed Salah has been involved in 27 goals in 17 Premier League games this season (16 goals, 11 assists), just one fewer than he was in 32 appearances last term (18 goals, 10 assists).

His goal to make it 3-1 was his 100th home goal in the Premier League, making him the eighth player to reach this milestone.

Making his 250th Premier League start for Liverpool, Salah became the fourth player to register 250 Premier League goal involvements for a single side (171 goals, 79 assists), along with Wayne Rooney for Man Utd (276), Ryan Giggs for Man Utd (271) and Harry Kane for Tottenham (259).

........ he's going to beat all of them.

First PL player to ever score/assist in 10 consecutive games 3 times.
No other player has done it more than once.

His consistency since signing for us is ridicoulous. Some of the big players like Suarez and Ronaldo might have been better in actual skill at the top of their game but Salahs consistency is insane.

We shouldn’t be too dependent on him. Those of a more perceptive bent may have noticed that m, in the last two seasons, his post-winter form has collapsed.

One was AFCON. That was a given.

Last season - didn't the whole team more or less collapse. He also was injured - came back - and then got reinjured if I recall. Bit of a mess last season overall for us between injuries, the Klopp news, etc.

Here's one that everyone will get:

    Salah - 229 goals, 103 assists - 373 games
    Thierry Henry - 228 goals, 93 assists - 377 games.

I was surprised (and I didn’t check) but I saw a side by side comparison of Salah and Neymar. Salah not even close, if the stats are to be believed. And I really don’t rate Neymar.

Ligue 1 is basically Championship-division level football.

to be fair. He had plenty of seasons in La Liga, but of course at that point, it was Barca, Real and maybe Athletico - the front three of Messi and Suarez plus Neymar was dominant.

A great example of someone who followed the money and not the football.

Posted this in today's game thread but probably more appropriate here.

    Salah in stats
    • Mohamed Salah has both scored and assisted in eight different Premier League games for Liverpool this season, already the most any player has done so in a single campaign in the competition.
    • Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah has been involved in 30 goals in just 18 Premier League games this season (17 goals, 13 assists), the fewest appearances any player has needed to reach 30 goal involvements in a single campaign in the competition.
    • Mohamed Salah has scored 20+ goals in all competitions in all eight of his seasons with Liverpool. Among Premier League players (since 1992-93), only Alan Shearer (10) and Harry Kane (9) have had more 20+ goal campaigns than the Egyptian.
    • With another goal and assist today, Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah has now been involved in 52 goals in all competitions in 2024 (29 goals, 23 assists), more than any other player in Europe’s big five leagues.
