As I understand it, they’re still horse trading, so no offer will have been made or presented. So while Mo was correct when he said he had seen nothing, there’s nothing on the table, etc., that essentially meant nothing. Because until there’s a final offer from Anfield, he won’t be presented with anything. Except updates from his agent, but nothing from Anfield. Mo is on £325 or £350k a week, but after side deals, ancillary deals and image rights are added in, he’s making over £1m a week.
Aye, that be right. He’ll likely not want a cut to those despite his age and also a longer deal. Despite his current numbers, the club is right to be wary. These figures have fallen off a cliff edge before in recent years. Old foxes (hope I don’t get into trouble with anti-hunting lobby) such as Paisley, especially, Fagan and Ferguson knew when a player’s legs were going well before anyone and would usher him out while fans and pundits fulminated on the sidelines.
Mo Salah scored and assisted in a Premier League game for the 36th time. His record is the joint-most by a player in the competition's history, equalling Wayne Rooney's record of 36.
and now he owns the record himself. Salah has now scored and assisted in the same PL game on 37 occasions – MORE THAN ANY PLAYER IN THE COMPETITION'S HISTORY.
It's funny because this seems to have become important last year when Saka started having some games with a goal and an assist. All of a sudden the media was harping on being a big deal....oh wait....Salah's already been doing and doing it better.
Yeah - well, Arsenal is in London, and that matters! Liverpool are in, well, Liverpool...so nothing to note or get excited about...
I put that down to the nerd heads jumping on another "key stat" to obsess over. the game's gonna become like baseball at this rate: "Mo Salah now becomes the third Egyptian-born player who's played in both Italy and England to score two non-penalty left-footed goals within 18 minutes in the second half of a Tuesday night game in October when the temperature was below 20 degrees Celsius against an opposition goalie over 5ft 11inches tall who has been back from injury less than 3 weeks."
apparently that's a poor interpretation of what he actually said which was Liverpool "should" renew it.
According to The Mirror Mo Salah is on the brink of signing a new two-year contract with Liverpool to end all doubts about his Anfield future.
Numerous sites now reporting two-year deal agreed… barring something silly this should be solved. Now only two more. My guess is VvD does something similar to Salah, but that TAA is gone to RM.
Much that I like TAA, RB is the only one of the three positions where we already have a Premiership proven top class replacement in house.
Trent should sign a 3 yr deal and then leave after two... he'd be still in his prime and he could sit the next two years with the best team in Europe
if TAA is (as we all assume and have proof of) such a Liverpool local boy/fan/player, that is exactly what he should do leaving Liverpool on a free is not a ‘good look’ for a local hero
Well, McManaman had pretty good footballing reasons - which I won;t rehash again - Trent doesn't. And michael Owen isn't really from Liverpool
Which striker would you like in your team - Salah? Haaland? Kane? Mbappe? Another? vote here! https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/cvgx1mdpk3vo I just did it, MO is WAY ahead of them all.
