Each one of them had 10 goals in the run to the final a few years ago.

Salah should spit in the general direction of Real Madrid after that Bastardo Ramos fiasco...

Hopefully they sign a new deal and lock him down through his prime. Then he can do what he wants. But I wouldn't be surprised if he wanted to move on, honestly.

    Why would he want to?

Change of scenery, boyhood club/supergiant factor might come into play, obscene raise which LFC can't quite match... hell, it's sometimes enough to want to live in a sunny, continental capital.

It's hard to say definitively, and I don't know Mo Salah. But as we've seen with these moves, it's clearly not always ALL about the best chance for winning trophies. Not lately.

Personal legacy/glory is a huge thing with Salah it seems which is why the captaincy thing against Midtjyland was a bigger issue than we could imagine; I recall that was also a problem with the national team where he basically sulked when it was given to him.

There’s also an expectation, almost bordering on a national obsession, in Egypt that he must play for one of the big two in Spain before he retires. I think if we retain the title, he’ll want to move on and we’d probably let him if the fee were right. Big question, do these Spanish giants have the willingness let alone the money? We badly stung Barcelona last time around while hugely improving ourselves at the same time. Real Madrid is still digesting the bad meal that is the Eden Hazard transfer.

People should realize that Salah hasn't been off form this year (Firmino and Mane have) .. if he doesn't lose the ball or shoot into a blind alley the other ten attempts to do what he did for the first goal today, then he doesn;t score that goal today.

I've been meaning to post this for a while ....

Mo is so predictable, cutting to the left 99.9% of the time. it's so frustrating to watch him get crowded out, game after game.

if he could learn to shoot with his right foot, he'd probably get - what - 10-15% more goals? I am amazed this hasn't been hammered into him by now given the various coaches he's been under since he was a lad.

Shooting is instinctive mostly, I think. You can't train Jamie Carragher to swing his leg like Jurgen Klinsman ... by the same token you won;t teach much in terms of finishing to a guy who never used one foot to shoot. (you might, I suppose, if he was cr@p with his shooting foot). But in Salah's case, a lot of these finishes don;t require shooting, they just require almost passes into the goal, which he should be able to work on attempting ...
You don;t often see Messi naturally shoot with his right, but if he needs to dink it with it, no problem ... Salah could get better at that.

Great player. But IMO missed many chances from the shots he takes. He's joined the club of strikers who score the most technical of goals but misses the tap ins.

given all the media wanking over Kane, KdB, Dias etc ... this is fantastic!

Mohamed Salah has been voted Premier League PFA Fans' Player of the Year for 2020-21.

The Egyptian claims the individual honour after a prolific goalscoring campaign in the top flight that saw him register 22 goals and five assists.

That contribution helped the Reds secure a third-place finish and also saw him included in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year.

It's the second season in a row that a Liverpool player has won the prize following Sadio Mane's victory in 2019-20.

as pure finishers, Rush, Fowler, Owen, Torres (he was the best finisher) and Suarez were prob better, but that's largely down to Salah's weakness with his right and lack of finesse on the easy finishes ..... and there's also the issue that those five grew up playing as strikers. Salah is a winger who scores great goals ....
