I think we're all wondering the same thing. The folks at MLSE should be able to iron these things out you would think what with the number of European players that have come to play for the Leafs and Raptors in recent years.

MLSE should set up a residency program:

-build a condo for TFC players and other futbol players to live.

-pay a sum to the canadian government to allow futbol players to live here.

-players that move to canada should be allowed to become citizens and be eligible to player for the MNT and be able to train year round at BMO field.

-MLSE should build an indoor training centre and have a condo attached to house players.

I find it odd as well.

Mo even said that it would be easier to bring these players to the states.

3 cases in which Canadian Immigration has stepped in and questioned things.

If this cannot get straightened out then we (TFC) will find it hard to attract talent from other countries.

well the thing is very simple....he obviously didn't have the right papers with him and/or he has a criminal record somewhere..and/or a number of different reasons.

eventhough TFC has the Same ownership as the leafs and Raptors the STAFF is totally different....im guessing someones not clearing the paperwork properly...

Dichio didn't have a problem with canadian immigration he had a problem getting a US visa...he was able to play here he just couldnt play in the states. i was at his first practice it was the days just before they travelled to Kansas City.

and Ibrahim...who knows with that...he is from an Afrikan country...one of my ex-gf from my cruise ship days was from South Africa...you need a visa to get into Canada...infact if you're South African...you need to be tested (for various things) as well as needing a visa to get to ANY country.

As I do find it odd that this continues to happen but you have to think that the TFC organization should shoulder some of the blame on this and try and figure out if the papers are right and that he will get a visa rather than having to go through this process everytime we sign or try to sign a player from a different nation but I guess this is a learning curve for them as well operating as a club so hopfully in the future these things do not happen again.

Let's remember that no one from the States has had issues. Ibrahim (Togo), Nagamura (Brasil), Samuel (T&T) and Dyachenko (Ukraine-US/no passport) were probably all legit cases of Immigration requiring certain papers to be filed and a process adhered to. I don't know anymore than you guys do, but there's got to be some reason for it. Samuel was only coming here to train so he should have been fine as a visitor to the country, but he was denied entry. Did he accidentally tell them he was here on business purposes? Does this change the visa required? Who the hell knows...

Alright you mugs, it's obviously nothing to do with Mo Johnston. Samuels didn't have a visa and thought he could get in without one. However, as he was travelling on a Trinidad passport, not a UK one, this was not the case.

He'll have to apply for a visa and if he gets one he'll be fine.
