Why did you post this? Why do you even go to that site? The video has nothing to do with the incident. This is the same unsubstantiated crap that was posted yesterday. Pointless.

There were DC fans at this game? Who knew.

All joking aside, I think this is made up. Everyone was more interested in celebrating the shield. Nobody bothered them at half time or after the game.

I also think we would of saw the yellow smoke as well if it wasn't stomped out. This could easily be confirmed or not by DC fans who were there, since they were all in the same area in a small space. Should ask them. Because it's a concern if true.

I think one of them would of brought it up on our boards if it did happen. I mean we have had one post pics just a few hours back of the game.

I just think Rumors is up to their old tricks. Lack of news, let's go after Columbus. I'm not going to report on it or click on the link.

    Dear Aaron Stollar:

I told you this would happen. Congratulations, you piece of crap. Hope a couple dozen hits for your pathetic excuse of a website was worth it.

I told you, asshole. Thanks a lot.

You're a real piece of work.

The sad thing is, McCullers (or someone) probably can't even hire a lawyer to put these bastards out of business because it's billed as a "rumor" site. They might be able to do something about the hackjob photoshops, but other than that...

Open Memo to MLSTumors: Legit sites don't photoshop, but don't we already know that?

And why do you go to that site? Don't people need something to line their cat's litter box with?

    Would a moderator mind

    a) changing the title of this thread and/or b) merging it with the LAST thread this same asshole started on this same topic?

Nobody needs this lie of a title popping up on the front page all day long. It's complete bullshit and the thread starter is just a jerk who's trying to pump this up.

We didn't need one thread on this and now wehave two.

And if this isn't a troll magnet, I don't know what is.

Discussing this lie makes no sense. Promulgating the lie, as the thread starter apparently wants to do, makes no sense.

It's bad enough that MLSTumors is featuring the story. The Crew Forum shouldn't do the same thing.

    Oh, and "junior21"?

    You're an imbecile.

If a pigeon turd lands on an away fan in Columbus it's an international incident to MLS Rumors.

It's not even mentioned in the DC boards at all.

I read that rumor board, and there is confusion on whether it was one of their fans trying to throw it on the field(from the back of their group) or one of ours. And, one DC fan in the section that said it wasn't a big deal at all. Pretty much just a smoke bomb dropped in the stands. Also said the Crew fans he met were very nice.

    Talk about a major incident.

Check around before posting on here. I expect MLSRumors not to because they will post anything untrue, but come on.

Re: MLSR...REPORT: Smokebomb Hurled By Columbus Fans at United Supporters

    (a) I changed the thread title as much as I feel is appropriate without abusing my mod abilities (I could point out in the thread title, for example, that the original post about the smokebomb was no less than the fifth post on that blog about the Crew game posted after the game, and the first time the incident was mentioned, casting doubt on it's veracity, but that kind of editorializing of someone else's thread title is inappropriate, IMO).

    (b) What thread? I poked around looking for it - in case I missed it - and I didn't see it in this forum. In which case, I have no ability to edit it.

it's part of the Crew/DC postgame thread

feel free to just merge it into there, so I don't have to look at this abomination of a thread anymore while on the Crew board

I should add that accidents happen. A friend of mine has a small hole in the back of one of his jerseys from a smokebomb that somebody didn't know how to use back in the NorthEnd in 1999 (somebody lit and threw it, not lit and dropped it).

If this smokebomb event occurred, as claimed, there's no evidence of where it came from or why. It could have someone just trying to "punk" DC fans by having a "Crew smokebomb" go off in their section, I suppose. It also could have been a DC fan who didn't know what they were doing. We just don't know.

In the end, a flying smokebomb is a relatively minor event - if it actually happened. Certainly throwing incindiaries - even ones as relatively benign as a smokebomb - is a bad idea, and should be stamped out, but we have no idea who did it - if it happened - or why.

    Tempest in a teapot.

I think the site should be checked for the Lies that is produces, and so that their should be some type of response. I also think that it is funny that they sell there Zazzle shirts with the crew logo( which is gone now), I think that it said we are better than you.

Incidentally, true story here: After the scum match, my son and I went to Quaker Steak and Lube with a few other supporters for dinner. We saw none other than Jaime Moreno there. Now here's where it gets interesting. At one point in the evening Jaime farted and Marco Etcheverry popped out his a$$ at which point the both of them were beamed up into an awaiting space ship. True story, I saw it with my own eyes and have other supporters to back me up!!
