I dont know maybe its just me but I am a fan of the new setup. I think it looks much more professional now. If I remember correct awhile back everyone was saying it looked "old" and "out dated" and if people were going to take soccer seriously they needed to improve the website. Most of us are just use to the old setup but in a few weeks we are all going to get use to this one and learn to navigate it easily. Thumbs up from me
I like it. I wish they listed games played in the standings, I know you can click on full standings and get more info but... I too wish they had the team logos on the upcoming games schedule. overall I like it.
Its an improvement from what we had however it's too techy and complicated for my taste. I actully prefur the USL webpage over this because I can find what I need quicker.
Yes, absolutely. Although the MLB site is better laid out (design styles are still not so great). Only 4 columns instead of MLSNet.com's 5 columns. and the organization is much better -- and no cheesy Vista-style video controls. But I can certainly see where they started from -- it's where they ended up that I take issue with.
It'll take time to get used to as I liked the previous design more. The new version is just too "busy," and my guess is the design was to keep visitors staying and click around.
Two things I don't like: Won't load properly in Opera. (ugh) Team logos missing from the schedule and standings tables. Other than that I think its a definite upgrade.
I don't think its bad, but can't find any info on the MLS All Star Game. The Search tool seems worthless, although I don't know if it was any better before the overhaul. I'm either returned 7000+ results, or the following error " Your search query resulted in an error, please resubmit your query. " Nothing inbetween ...
i have adobe flash 9 and the most up-to-date internet explorer, but for some reason everytime i go to the front page all i see is a white box and a link to adobe flash that reads "Click here to upgrade Flash Player (version 8 required)" the nav bar is visible and working, as is the scoreboard, and all the crap at the bottom like the shop links. anyone got a clue what's up with this or how i can fix it? i've doodled with my security settings and nothing seems to help.
That's almost certainly their issue and not on your end. Theyir Flash Player detection script is probably bunked up.
The same company that does MLB's work does it for the MLS. The new site has all sorts of broken crap in Firefox 2. Who did they employ was web designers? Some group of Bulgarian college students who tested the whole thing using Safari????
Same problem Any of you tech support guys have a clue about this one? I'm running IE 7 on Windows vista
oh, crap. i get the same problem with the mlb website as well. i hope i can actually access the site someday.
i can use the site with no problems... i use firefox 2.0 so the browser is working fine. a little "busy", but i'll get used to it. it was time that they spruced things up a bit.
Kind of like the commentators for the soccer broadcasts, I think it is okay. Perhaps some of you should ask if MLS will ever release a beta version to a select few so all of the dissection of it can be performed beforehand. Anyway, I'm glad it was released now. At least it won't be the big news item for the All Star Game
My biggest complaint (besides the clutter) is that the size of the team names/MLS official site header are significantly smaller than the site map links at the bottom. I do like the single, alphabetized list in image format, but it would be nice not having to squint. And is it necessary to have photo galleries and online store sections on the front page? Okay, I understand the online store brings in revenue, but a photo gallery is pointless when there's an array of video clips.
