Anyone else find this funny? I'm in New Orleans and see a front page header telling fans to buy it all up. So what do I think to myself? "Surely they've updated the site so I no longer have to see a 2001 era Washington jersey, right"? Surely they haven't.
It's really, really lame. I saw the headline, too and then read how they were giving free shipping for 75 bucks plus orders. So, I thought, "what the hey, Christmas gifts!" I couldn't accumulate more then 13 bucks of stuff I wanted off that site. Either I have it or the size is way off. Crew have always had the crappiest part of MLSGear. Why? I don't get why they have left the site untouched, yet pimp it out all the time. It's not even funny anymore. It's sad and annoying. Ok. Ok. That Washington Jersey still being there is sort of funny.
I wrote to MLS years ago telling them their merchandise was crap. They wrote back and said it wasn't. It's still crap.
Around the time when the new MLSnet.com came up, I emailed someone who was supposed to be the "manager" of MLSnet.com, and he assured me they would have a new merchandise store up soon to go along with all the other redisigned websites- but still nothing. Actually, I suspect this has less to do with MLS and more to do with StarStruck. If you've ever ordered anything from MLSgear.com, you know that you're actually buying from a company called StarStruck. Hopefully, MLS has found a new company to distribute their products.
Just saw this- it's nice to see we're not the only sport with the word "the" being added before our name: http://shop.mlb.com/home/index.jsp "the major league baseball"
