How are things going on stateside in your own league? Does Pele still play? No seriously, who are the best teams and who are the major stars? Who does Freddy Adu play for? Is he as good as you all say he is and is he on his way to Man Utd? I sincerley hope not!
I also frequest the Lonely Planet travel website and this guy reminds me of people who post questions like "What is there to see in the United States? I only have a week." There's a ton of information out there but this guy doesn't want to look at it.
Yanky Poodle Mandy sounds just Dandy. Here's a start. It's Major League Soccer's own league history from the beginning through 2002. That will give you a lot of what you're asking about, plus a good grounding of the growth of the league. For more recent news, then turn the MLS's home page and dig from there. After that you can launch more directed questions that will gain a lot more responses than you've gotten so far. My guess is that most of us wonder if you are serious enough about your interest to invest the time required to put together an answer to your very broad questions. Some digging by you first will gain you a lot of responders, is my guess. Oh, and Freddy is quite good, but is still only 14, so has a lot of growth and development ahead. And he plays for no one yet, though he'll be signing with DC United after this Friday and will probably see some time on the field, but not as a starter. Good reading, and cheers...
Yeah, I think someone made a mistake about that. They need to look at the names of their divisions and see where they screwed up. Maybe Bobles is involved in the English soccer setup?
or maybe you should read up on football history and you would find out that the first division used to be the top division until the premier league was formed with a seperate body from the fa.
I don't know where to ask this but .... is it true that soccer players over there can't touch the ball with thier hands? Then why do I sometimes see some players using thier hands? It's too confusing.
I think if you wear gloves you can touch the ball, because the ball is not actually touching your hands. But then why don't they all wear gloves?

I can't believe people replied to the above without their sarcasm detector going off. Come on people, lets peal the skin off the onion a little bit here. Have you ever heard about the type of answer you get when you ask a stupid question?
Well it isn't the top division anymore. Maybe they should have renamed it when the Premiership came into being.
Nobody over there knows how to do anything with their hands. If you look real close at all those pictures of the Frenchies in the cafes, they're all holding the fork with their toes.
Oh, I see. Thank you. I guess I just wasn't looking close enough at the pictures... or when I was there in person... I'm not very observant.
Wow, was that suppose to be humor? Am I suppose to be laying on the floor holding my stomach. Your stupidty and ignorance has left me speechless, then again I shouldn't waste my time with schmegheads like yourself.
Not sure about the attendence at MLS matches. I do know that it is pretty awful soccer compared to the majority of the worlds leagues. It's difficult to watch.
