Wow I'm excited! The show has a ways to go but I think its a great start. It kinda reminded me of the old EPL Highlight shows on FSW that I used to love.

I can see Harkes becoming a great color/expert commentator (love the Scottish impressions). Congrats to MLS for finally getting the media machine rolling with the right network.

I live on the west coast so its great to end my Soccer Saturdays with 'MLS Wrap' at 9pm.

    GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!

I think it's great too, but they should have at least mentioned the Fire - Revs game coming up today, and had the standings posted at the end of the show along with next week's full schedule.

Actually, I thought the show sucked...

Obviously it will get much better as the season rolls on but Sean Wheelock, who is usually quite good at his job, stumbled and bumbled through the entire hour..

Also, would it kill the guy who does the highlights to actually get the names right of the players he's talking about?

Again, bad start but great promise...

I agree, MLS Wrap was awesome! We shouldn't be complaining about the details of the show; the fact that we have an MLS highlight show is great, I can't wait until they switch networks and MLS Wrap takes Baseball Tonight's time slot

We deserve better than this. To start, they could put a teleprompter in the studio. Not yet "enough mustard on the hot dog."

Yeah, so Sean Wheelock can sound like Rob Stone reading off overused jokes and stale one-liners, painstakingly prepared and lacking in effect. That's the kind of mustard I want. :)

I like the (semi) unscripted show. Almost makes them sound like us ordinary fans, I think, with some trace of professionalism.

Im just happy we have a show. :)

They only have an hour to prepare the show.

Considering that, it's not too bad.

I'm happy I got to see the NJ turf and the team colors on MLS WRAP, that game looked good. The new box goals are back in Giant stadium but I bet they will be gone after the Man-U game.I don't understand why they dont use box goals in all the NFL stadiums.

And the KC game on FSW was zoomed too far out.

Actually it wasn't. That's the way a soccer match is supposed to be shown on tv, so you can see plays develop. I was pleasantly surprised by Fox's production work.
ESPN's camerawork is typically zoomed in too far, which makes it difficult to watch, seeing as the camera moves around too much and doesn't show enough of what's going on off the ball.

For the first time out of the gate, it wasn't too bad. Sure, it could have been tighter, but it gave us the stuff we wanted to see. I'm sure it'll get better.

Now's the time fans should e-mail or call with their suggestions, while this show is in its malleable stage. The address is mlswrap@foxsportsworld.com.

I disagree. I think there's a mid-ground between what FSW had for the KC match and the typical ESPN broadcast-- just look at most Premier League games on FSW. THOSE are shot very well-- closely enough to make out the players, but also just wide enough to present the full body of the defense scrambling to turn away an attack, or a quick-moving counterattack.

I could barely make out which player was which last night. Too bad, it was such a fantastic game.

As for MLS Wrap, I love it. Obviously there's lots of room for improvement, but I think Wheelock and "Harkesy" make great partners. I like the semi-unscripted feel, even if it does lead to occasional bloops and mispronunciations. It's just amazing to finallly, FINALLY have a real highlights show to look forward to every week, instead of four minutes on SportsCenter every now and then.

I gotta agree with you on that. When I watch a game on TV I don't want to be able to clearly make out the names on the back of the jerseys, or else it's gonna be a P.I.T.A. to watch.

Not only that, but twice we got keepers "climbing the ladder." Thought we had heard the last of that.

I thought I saw the graphic with the mic and two Hispanic names (followed by the mic and Harkes and Wheelock's names) at the beginning of the show.

But maybe I saw it at the beginning of the KC-DC game.

Maybe someone can watch next time MLS Wrap is on and look for that graphic.

    Water to a thristy man. . .

And any port in a storm

The best aspect to Wrap is that it is an hour long. That means each game, expect for the West Coasters, will get a lot of analysis, highlights and posty interviews. At least our Football highlight show can show the highlights, uh Skysports?

Which begs the question. How are they going to handle the SJ, Colorado and LA games? Updates? Off a teletype? (You youngins wouldn't know what that is) It would be in keeping with their lack of a teleprompter.

Maybe you should have someone tape the first MLS Extratime with Roy Wegerle and then come back and say we deserve better. Wegerle looked like he was sitting on a tack.

Give them at least one show to sort it out.

    I was impressed!

BUT, I wish it could have showed on Sundays after ALL of the weekend games played. I was watching the clock and I was wondering if they were going to get to all of the highlights. I feel they slighted the post game commments from the KC/DC game. Overall, I thought that Sean and John did a good job.

P.S. That was the first time i have seen Dragon Stadium on TV. Horrible looking field!

thought it was a great start. i agree with the somewhat minor criticisms that they should have a) mentioned the fire/revs game; b) put up some standings, and c) listed next week's games. but they were probably just scrambling to get the time right and fill in the hour. it's tough as the games haven't even ended yet when the show starts (though i guess in sat's case they had). thought the chemisty between wheelock and harkes was good and can easily be built upon.

i didn't see it saturday night but woke up in time on sunday morning when they showed it again at 10 am est/7am pdt. great way to start my sunday morning.
