Wow, what a dramatic week. It's looking like this may be both the most competitive MLS season in a long time and the most competitive WPL as well. A huge week for KCWiz, who's back on top of the dog pile, in positive territory, and landing another Weekly Cup despite having to perform the Northside Rovers memorial dance of daggers. His bet of 123 on LA in DC, while not quite landing PotW, was a masterstroke. His only stumble was HOU, and the blowouts more than made up for that. Not far behind, auspicating wake like a flash of green light is DamonEsquire who also bet big on LAG on the road. He's up 5 on the way to promotion. Third goes to firefan2001 and his war chant of "LET'S GO HOMIES", which pretty much sums up his picks. He's up 6 to #12. In fourth is the suddenly threatening IASocFan. Hefty betting on Bruce's boys and lukewarm DCU support ensured a monster week. Despite being only 8th in yearly perf, he's now on top of both Rate of Return and Total Points! Guess we'll have to watch him closely to see which formula is best. Rounding out the top five is the steady alf, who got every game but DC, and didn't bet the farm there either. Yowza. What a week. Your entire week rested squarely upon the feet of the New York Red Bulls (scary thought, I know). Correctly predicting that thrashing (come on, Real... six second half goals???) and LA's beatdown of DCU launched you towards the top of the table, while missing on both gave you a nice set of cement shoes to wear (with one notable exception). Most of those who split the picks ended up in contention for the Inverse Karma Award, as we either sidestepped the free-fallers or got trampled for holding up the line. However, somehow, amazingly, this week's winner of the "Wondolowski only got a 7.4 from the Russian judge" edition of the IKA, PCrsl, picks up another trophy while missing big on both LA and NY, still goes up a spot in the standings (what the hell happened to the other guys?) with a score of 123.64. Congrats, PCrsl, and here's hoping you can use a foreign object on the Fates while the ref's back is turned next week.
