It's not official yet, but everything else is very well advanced. Acording to the article, mls teams will be participating in the 2009 edition at the earliest. It will probably be officially announced during the CONCACAF meeting in Florida in January 28-29: finally
Like I said in the past, I'll welcome MLS teams as long as it increases River's chances of playing in the states. I'd make a trip to any city in the US to see River play a Libertadores match, especially if it's in the later stages of the tournament.
good for them, but bad for the southamerican countries, other than argentina and brazil, whom now have just 2,5 places due to the mexican teams,i think this will end in 1,5 places for each.very bad news for the most of the southamericans like us.to think until 1998 it was a great tournament with just champion and vice champion from each country
So how are they going to work this out? Are they going to have a Pre-Interliga that gives spots to the Interliga that give spots to Libertadores?
just a rumor Chuck did not say any thing different than the anouncement of th new concachampions and 30 thousand dollars for each treaveling island or central american club (they just could not afford it in the past) Not a word on CL
