    Howdy, y'all.

    Four things to announce today:

Our first result of the year is the scoring scheme:

    2pts for the correct prediction
    +0.5 pts for correct GD
+0.5 pts for correct score (which implies you got the GD, too)

+1 for correctly calling a blowout, exclusive of GD, though. Thus If you correctly call a GD of 3 or greater, it'll count as getting the GD right, even if you are off (as in you call a 4-1 win, and it turns out to be 5-1). This point also includes a 0.5 pt bonus for calling the unlikely correctly.

Possible scores then are 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5 (correct score on a blowout).

I figure this is a good compromise between the various positions. Feel free to flame away.

Second, The following people are getting a stern talking to from the ref for mangling our beautiful format. Don't make me pull out the cards! (not that I have cards in the BigSoccer sense, just WPL realm.)

    vtravi
    Baked Alaskan
    Hool

and to show there's no homefield advantage:

    themrs.

Just to recap the format is:

    home team x : x away team

    It makes my life easier!

Third, only a few folks actually called the draw:
    3pts
    KoRnNutZ1320
    nowhere
    Whirlwind
    2.5 pts
    CityIceMan
    firefan2003
    Matt in the Hatt

Please let me know of any errors. It's probably a good idea to double check my calculations for your score, just in case I miss something. Over the course of a season it's pretty well guaranteed to happen sometime.

The rest of us poor souls have to get cracking to catch them for the first weekly cup next monday.

    FOURTH: NEXT WEEK'S GAMES

    DAL : LAG
    NYM : CLB
    DCU : KCW
    COL : SJE
    CHI : NER

    Thanks!

    Howdy Guinho,

Thanks once again for taking up the responsibility of running our league! We all appreciate it. Are you planning on reporting the results in the same format as did your predessor jlo? I hope the answer is yes!

Purdy much. I plan on breaking us into divisions or 20 (although since this is an MLS WPL and we have a mere 45 entrants so far, maybe I'll contract that to divisions of 15.... ;) )

I'll also keep track of the weekly cups, with a final Cup Winners' Cup trophy at the end (for having the highest point total in the most weeks) as well.

Any other reporting features you'd like?

So, since we'll be playing at the "Home Depot" center, I thought "Homer" would be a great mascot ;)

    Also thanks Guinho.
