Where in the ******** where guys to crash the net for a rebound? Why are we wasting 2 guys standing over the ball when Cucho is the only one who would ever take it?
Think we left some back in case it hit the 8 person wall but yes they should have had 2 on the 6 yard box
We really miss Ramirez he definitely makes a difference and Matan as well. I think Matan starts vrs Monterrey. Also think Sands started to save Yeboah from working too hard.
1781860635233361966 is not a valid tweet id We had guys crashing. I have no problem with anyone's positioning on this play. Nine times out of ten, if there's a rebound there, it winds up coming out around the six, not on the goal line. If you're too close to the goal, it's more likely to bounce past you. Just crappy luck.
Two shots that hit the post and the Twitter says we haven't won in regulation in 7 games. We're due for a win and some good luck on Wednesday. LFG. Portland's goals were both weird. Seemed like maybe Schulte couldn't see on the first and was slow to text as a result. On the second, Yeboah seemed like he was ball watching and ended up getting beat.
Starting to feel like that 16 game unbeaten run in the Berhalter era where we only won a few times. We are still a good team but a little annoying we couldn't close it out tonight. Big game Wednesday
Neville is pissed at unkel for some reason “The decision at the end was an absolute disgrace. Portland Timbers have seen this too many times, it’s unacceptable.” -Phil Neville on the referee Ted Unkel awarding Columbus a free kick at the end— Adam Susman (@Adam_Susman) April 21, 2024
He's pissed because initially, he didn't call a foul on the challenge that knocked Nagbe down. He stopped the play for the injury, and then out of nowhere, decided to award a free kick. I'd have been pissed too. I thought it was a foul to begin with, so ultimately I thought the right call was made, but he didn't handle that or communicate it well.
And yet of course while he was complaining about a missed call for him he conveniently leaves out the most important non call of the night when Chara dragges down cucho in the box
Less than an inch-in either direction-away from 3 points in this one. Absolutely insane. Beat Monterrey.
I just find it amusing when a coach who benefitted from poor calls picks out one specific instance they were wronged.
Nah, I'm with you. I still think the Cucho play should have been a penalty, and that was moments before Portland made it 2-1. If that's called, it could be a completely different game.
I guess Phil's presser he was just angry in general at the state of refereeing. Looking at Portland twitter, they feel like they were the ones Unkel'd.
