    Hello Loyal Readers:

    First off, errata:

Apparently, I owe Sean Wheelock an apology for attributing a comment to him that placed him as the runner up Douchebag of the Week, to Brad Feldman and Greg Lalas. Sean, or someone claiming to be him, contacted me here at the Fortress 10Shirt, thanking me for the runner up honor and my passion, but disavowing any such statement. Since we had already cleared the game of the DVR, we had to contact our third party fact checker, which did confirm that I misheard the statement. Apologies to Sean Wheelock.

Normally, that would probably qualify me as "Douchebag of the Week" for this week, however, BigSoccer management has politely requested that I retire the "Douchebag of the Week" Honor, probably at the request of Alexi, who always has to take up for his brother. That and I guess the sponsors like Alltel and the dating site du jour probably bitched about their banner ads popping up next to the word "douchebag", so to keep my meager paycheck coming, the DBotW is officially Kaput. We may resurrect this award under a new title, something along the line of GLotW, if you can figure that out.

[result] THURSDAY 5/9/07 - RSL V. COLORADO [result]

    RSL 1 - 1 Colorado

A one/one draw with both scores coming off own goals. Yeah, that's gonna score the casual fan. I have nothing to say other than Jason Kreis, while apparently finding a way to at least stop the blowout losses, needs to lay off the hair product before he becomes a charity case on Shear Genius.

MLS Week 6 - Weekend Predictions

    Chicago Fire at Toronto FC
    3:30 PM ET/2:30 PM in God's Chosen Time Zone - FSC/CBC/FSH

The Mad Scientist of MLS Coaches has had a couple of weeks to run a few thousand lineups for Toronto through the LZW Algorithm to find the optimal starting XI. What's that old saying about (or aboot for the Canukistanis) monkeys, typewriters and Shakespeare? Well, you could have a room of MoJo's furiously scribbling lineups on those clipboards with the soccer field diagram on it and it would still take a couple of eons for them to come up with a lineup that would be able to beat Chicago this weekend and Mo doesn't have that many players left to trade out. Greg Sutton gets lit up like a "Holiday Celebration Tree" (Christmas has been officially banned in Canada to foster cultural tolerance for about a decade) as Chad Diesel, Chris Rolfe and Justin Mapp each bag a first half goal, prompting Dave Sarachan to promptly sub them out for whatever bench riding defensive midfielders he can smuggle across the border. Jim Curtin gets the dubious credit for the first goal scored for Toronto at Bowel Movement Overdrive Field with an own goal on an attempted clearance.

    Chicago 3 - 1 Toronto (Mapp, Barrett, Curtin[OG], Rolfe)

    Chivas USA at Columbus Crew
    7:30 PM ET/6:30 PM in God's Chosen Time Zone - Direct Kick/MLSLive.tv

Can Sigi get some offense with newly arrived Alejandro Moreno on board for the departed Joseph Ngwenya? Maybe if he can get Schelotto on from the start and have Eddie Gaven learn to get a shot on frame, or make him shag all his missed balls until he does. I wonder if Ohio State has looked at him as a possible kicker? Of course the NCAA would never allow that to happen since they couldn't let Jeremy Bloom compete as a skier in the football offseason. Idiots. I see the Crew pulling this one out late on a free kick goal earned by Moreno.

Chivas USA 0 - 1 Columbus Crew (Schelotto)

FC Dallas at Kansas City Wizards
    8:00 PM ET/7:00 PM in God's Chosen Time Zone - Direct Kick/MLSLive.tv

FC Dallas gets their much needed week off after 6 games in the first 4 weeks of the season. Rumors are being tossed around about a possible trade with Chivas USA for the rights to fire Amado Guevara at a later date after he turns in one good game and Houdinis himself out of the following 6. Dallas should look at
throwing in the Gbandi brothers and a gymbag to be named later for taking El Lobo (which strangely translates into "colorectal cancer" in Honduran. Also, Steve Morrow seems to have picked a spot at home for Captain Carlos Ruiz who was apparently abset some earlier in the week sniffing the feet of used pantyhose at several Dallas area Hooters.

On the other hand we have Kansas City (insert appropriate attendance joke here) will be getting their first game at a reasonable time. Unfortunately for Eddie Johnson and crew, Dario Sala returns from suspension, boosting the confidence of the Dallas Midfield and Defence to play more aggressively instead of having to worry about how many goals Shaka Hislop is going to let in. Kansas City just doesn't have the midfield to feed Johnson and will be missing Jimmy "Glassjaw" Conrad. Expect Dallas to bounce back with a couple of goals, including a PK given up by Nick Garcia. Frankencooper bags one on a goal mouth scramble and Oduro gets the goal off of the PK.

FC Dallas 2 - 0 KC Wizards (Cooper, Oduro)

New England Revolution at Los Angeles Galaxy

10:30 PM ET/9:30 PM in God's Chosen Time Zone - Direct Kick/MLSLive.tv/Useless HDNet

Only the Revs could make me pull for the Galaxy to win at anything other than a drag race between the team buses into the teeth of the California wildfires with a carton of matches and a can of gas under every seat. All the Galaxy need to do in this one is park their MLS Cup trophies where the Revs get off the bus from the hotel because nothing strikes fear and a sense of impending failure into the Revs like the sighting of an MLS Cup. The best result for me for this game would be a 0-0 draw with lots of ejections and injuries or a halftime recurrence of Joey Franchino's little substance abuse problem, but since it's Revs and Galaxy, I won't get anything more except for goals from Landon and Cobi and Nate Jaqua opens his account.

Revs 0 - 3 Galaxy (Jaqua, Cobi, Landon)

    Sunday, Sunday, Sunday

    Colorado at RedBulls

3:00 PM ET/2:00 PM in God's Chosen Time Zone - Telefutura

Colorado has sucked on the road, and will continue to suck on the road until the meaning of "suck" changes or the laws of physics are redefined regarding vacuums. Fresh off their staggering offensive performance against RSL, Colorado are going to see the same offensive woes that they saw against RSL. Expect Pablo Mastroeni to get a direct red for a useless challenge. Meanwhile RedBull and Juan Pablo Angel should have no problem pounding shots in on Bouna Condoul. If Watterus plays, he might give up one to Roberto Brown or Herculez Gomez, but probably not both, unlike the 3 goals that RedBull are going to get from van den Bergh, Angel and Altidore.

Colorado 0 - 3 RedBull (vdBergh, Altidore, Angel)

Not true about Bloom. He could compete, he just couldn't accept endorsements or entry fees and compete. Skiing being a fairly pricey endevor, it did pretty much give his season the buzzkill. As a Husker fan and a human being, i say it serves him right for playing football at Colorado.

If you don't know what I'm talking about just google any combo of:

WC: I'd like, "MLS Ain't Neva Happenin'" for $200, Alex.

Alex: This result has never happened in the history of KC and Dallas.

    WC's buzzer: Doot-doot!

    Alex: Wizardscharter.

    WC: What is:
    Alex: Correct, pick again...

Do you just have a dartboard that you randomly choose a score, situation, and goalscorers?

Oduro might get Garcia or someone else to give up a PK, but do you really think with all the veterans and primadonnas that Dallas has, they're going to let a kid with no starts this year take the important PK on the road?

Ergo, they prevented him from competing. There are much easier ways to pay off players, like Husker linemen sitting aqround on their asses down at the local farm implement dealers and collect checks for being corn fed fat asses.

Yeah, this from the state that has a racial climate that resembles 1960's Mississippi outside of Lincoln and Omaha. What was that chant you guys had one year? Something like "Sal's dead, Go Big Red". Real high class

Yeah or I could just google "Lawrence Phillips + domestic violence + driving over teenagers"

    and all this pops up:

Luckily you guys are in the BigXII North, otherwise it would be a pursefight between you, Baylor and OSU for the cellar in the south.

If that were the case, no one would read Jamie Trecker's work.

No, read it, whether you like it or not. More page views = More money and MLS swag for me.

How are you supposed to know you don't like it until you read it? And I have read some high quality stuff on the home page of big soccer (matrim, dan loney). So, I read this, thinking it might be interesting.

And now I've read it. It's not. This guy is a class A numbskull... which wouldn't be so bad if he didn't seem to have an air (heir?) of self importance. I frankly don't even get half of what he's talking about. Please, big soccer, take him off. My question to you is, does anyone like this guy?

my post was more so aimed at the posters who in every MM10 thread come in here and bash it. they don't have to read his work because they know they won't like it. i enjoy his satirical/over-the-top style. i don't agree with a lot of what he says, but i still enjoy it, just as i enjoy all the other writers on the frontpage.

I like it. This paragraph made it worthwhile to me this week:

Also enjoyed the line about Alexi squelching DBoftW in defense of Greg.
