In the midst of the second straight week when diehards can watch six days of MLS in a row (damn you, Monday!), here's the latest of the weekly league PBP threads. Midweek, Galavision, during Redskins final pre-season game, and it's at 8pm? I really should look at the schedule more often.
Chivas USA is going to have to work very hard to disappoint me twice in one week. But I'm confident they can do it.
I don't even want to think about DCU ... I still have an hour and a half of blissful ignorance about what horrible things might happen tonight.
Somebody better score in Philly tonight. I don't even care if it is Columbus at this point, but there better be some entertainment. The highlight of my night shouldn't be a 10 dollar burger and fries combo.
A bit strange that there are 3 matches tonight in the Eastern timezone, and they all start at 8pm (instead of the more common 7:30 or 7:00pm start times). I'm really interested to see if Columbus can keep their momentum going, and if NY can play a decent game on the road for a change. Trying to figure out if there's anything interesting about Chivas at New England, and I guess the reception for Shalrie Joseph could be the one thing that might get me interested enough to watch the first couple of minutes of that match!
En vivo en GALAVISION!!!! ********ers. I don't have this channel in HD. Then again, do I really want to see what's going to transpire tonight clearly?
Hmmm... Heaps drops Feilhaber from the starting lineup for the 2nd time in the Revs' last three games, I believe.
What do we think? Only a matter of time before Feilhaber and Adu are cast off and wind up at Chivas USA?
Starting to wonder. I think the Revs did the same sort of thing with Shalrie before they shipped him out of town. Maybe a Red Sox-style fire sale in the cards?
And Backe keeps both LeToux and Cooper on the bench, starting Henry and Cahill up top together, with McCarty and Tainio paired together in the middle. Going for the draw on the road? Meanwhile, Olsen keeps Boskovic on the bench again......strange choices all around for starting lineups tonight.
Not fair. Feilhaber's one of the better midfielders in the league. Not sure he's a "fit" in New England any more, though.
Any insight into what's gone wrong with him? I have to say in the matches I've watched, he's looked good but not great, and he does have a tendency to start whining for calls and forgetting to play the game. But he's clearly got skill, and he seems to work on defense as well as create offense, so it's still hard to figure out why he hasn't done better.
It's like he's on a completely different page than the other players on his own team. Tough to put a finger on why that is, though. Ironically, I think he had his best game of the season last Saturday at Columbus. 1-0 Revs - Saer Sene
Nice double save by DC off an Henry free kick. First Hamid makes a save off a Cahill header, and then Saragosa clears it when it looked like NY was going to get the rebound into the goal. Cahill definitely is dangerous on set pieces.
