So I am thrilled that MLS decided not to play until after the first round of the World Cup ends. And no MLS team will play a league match until a whopping four and a half hours after the first round ends! All times EDT. Friday 25 June San Jose at RSL, 9:00, Direct Kick Saturday 26 June DC United at Columbus, 7:30, Direct Kick LA Galaxy at Toronto, 7:30, Fox Soccer Channel NY Red Bulls at Kansas City, 8:30, Direct Kick Colorado at Houston, 8:30, Direct Kick Dallas at Chivas USA, 10:30, Direct Kick Sunday 27 June Seattle at Philadelphia, 5:00, ESPN2 Chicago at New England, 7:00, Direct Kick This is not intended as a USNT pbp thread, but I also won't have any sympathy for someone who hopes to keep the result of the US game out of this thread. As always, keep it friendly and enjoy the neutral pbp thread.
Me,too. Instead of having a few weeks of games lost in all the noise, MLS took a break and allowed some teams to get healthy, received some positive press due to the U.S. winning their group, and is now in a position to possibly have a few new sets of eyes on them. Maybe it feels too soon, but there is no way they were stopping league play for the entire tournament.
I don't know why they didn't re-schedule this game for a day were downtown Toronto didn't look like the Korean DMZ.
The way things worked out, MLS probably could've taken a few more days off. But hindsight is 20/20. If the US would've crashed out in the first round, everyone would be begging for MLS to start up again to wash the taste out of their mouth.
Popular game I see. At least Rio Tinto looks decently filled (or at least it does through my grainy internet feed).
RSL is constantly attacking down their left. Anyone know why? Is it that Espindola likes to play on the left or are they afraid of Convey?
Epic fail highlights from CSN. Matches out of order...no graphic for Portugal...don't know when the highlights end...
Because Frank Yallop has a finite amount of patience for poor distribution and failing to control ones box? Hernandez and Beitashour are a new partnership on that side (and likely only due to injury), so some unfamiliarity there. Its sort of worked, so keep going to the well over there.
