Enjoy this extraordinarily busy week - all 19 teams play at least once, with seven teams pulling double duty. San Jose and Dallas are on the road twice each, and Houston gets another chance to score some goals for their home fans. Toronto and Vancouver each play both a Canadian Championship game and an MLS match. All games listed in EDT; all games broadcast on DirectKick and MLS Live unless otherwise noted. This is definitely not the place for USA-Scotland PBP/chatter, but we won't censure mentions of the score in this thread as it takes place in the midst of the MLS action and the scores will undoubtedly be out there in MLS broadcasts. Wednesday 23 May Chivas USA at New York, 7:00, Univision Deportes Dallas at Chicago, 8:30 Columbus at Seattle, 10:00 San Jose at Los Angeles, 10:30 Saturday 26 May Los Angeles at Houston, 2:30, NBC Sports Network Philadelphia at Toronto, 4:30 Chicago at Columbus, 7:00, Univision Deportes New England at DC, 7:30 Dallas at Salt Lake, 9:00 Montreal at Colorado, 9:00 Vancouver at Portland, 10:00 Seattle at Chivas USA, 10:30 Sunday 27 May San Jose at Kansas City, 4:30, NBC Sports Network As always, keep it friendly here in the neutral PBP thread. Happy to be back, although it was quite fun to be at a game this past weekend.
I hope we win. Oops, I mixed this up with the Sounders preview thread. All seriousness aside, these are the good old days. The worst-attended teams are averaging in five figures. Great venues. Good TV coverage. Supporters groups flourishing, champions humbled, new facilities opening, MLS&E demonstrating that it is possible to fall out of a boat and miss water, etc.
And then for two weeks the MLS schedule gets pretty quiet for a couple weeks (though there will be Open Cup games May 29...) Why do we have New England-Chicago on June 2 and Vancouver-Houston on June 10? Were those games moved to those dates because they scheduled friendlies or something, or were they always on the schedule?
I didnt remember that there was middle of the week MLS action.... Im flying to Holland for 4 weeks this friday, i thought Dallas wont give me more heartache until i came back.... boy was i wrong on that one... And Chivas will pull the double win this week....
The Vancouver-Houston game has been on June 10 since the schedule was released but we here in Houston heard that it was because of a scheduling conflict later in the year for Vancouver. I don't know if we ever heard exactly what the conflict was.
I have been waiting for this thread for days just for the Univision Deportes complaints. Did they move Chivas USA at New York back to Univision?
MLS updated the website with Univision Deportes; last night it still said the parent channel. Good early chance for Chivas USA through LaBrocca; Meara still in fine form to deny him.
I was hoping this would be the case. Too bad other streams are about a minute ahead so I can't look away now.
Great chances on both sides of the field; for whatever reason I would enjoy seeing Angel get a goal tonight.
