. . . it's that time again - a three day week for MLS action, as we continue a busy run-up to the FIFA window when things will really slow down. Six teams play twice (eight if you include Montreal and Vancouver playing midweek in the Canadian championship) with Portland, Toronto, and Colorado getting the week off from MLS play. And hey - I hear something about a new stadium in Houston? All times EDT, all games on MLS Live and Direct Kick unless otherwise noted. Wednesday 9 May Houston at New York, 7:00 Salt Lake at Chicago, 8:30 Seattle at Dallas, 8:30 Saturday 12 May Los Angeles at Montreal, 4:00 DC at Houston, 4:30, NBC Sports Network Vancouver at New England, 7:30 Dallas at Columbus, 7:30 Kansas City at Chicago, 8:30 Salt Lake at Seattle, 10:00 Sunday 13 May New York at Philadelphia, 12:30, ESPN2 Chivas USA at San Jose, 7:00, Galavision As always, keep it friendly here in the neutral PBP thread.
Oh, good! I'll have all weekend to prepare myself for the inevitable. But I wonder how exactly Chivas USA will disappoint me this week ...
Something to look forward to tonight for FCD fans in their match against the Sounders. We'll be without Ugo Ihemelu, Blas Perez, Daniel Hernandez, David Ferreira, Ricardo Villar, Carlos Rodriguez, Bobby Warshaw...........and possibly Brek Shea. Who'll be playing? If anybody out there ever wanted to bet the house on an MLS match..............this might be the one.
I imagine Seattle will take it as an opportunity to rest a few starters for Saturday. Not exactly encouraging for FCD given the current roster situation but it might not go as badly as some people fear.
Ahhh, I see. I even checked the injury report before I posted this. So no CUSA conspiracy theories tonight.
Just to think, I could have gone out of town for work. Instead, I decided I would put it off until tomorrow morning just so I could actually witness the slaughter.
Kenny Cooper scores a goal for New York almost identical to the one David Clarkson scored for the Devils last night. Eerily similar.
I realized there was a match and opened MLS Live just in time for that goal. My theme for the night: ******** New York.
I always laugh about goals like that. When will players stop sending the ball back to their keeper in traffic? It's always a stupid play and it's great to see a team get punished for defenders laziness.
