I know this a fairly unique situation but using away goals as a tie-breaker would be a little strange in the Galaxy-Chivas USA series.

If the game next Sunday ends 0-0 or 1-1, do the Galaxy really deserve to win the tie-breaker on "away" goals?

How do you address our complaint that it takes away the advantage won by being higher seed?

the more i read some of these posts, the more i am against an away goals rule, because it does not determine a true winner. away goals is a TIE breaker. is it fair after a 2-2 and 1-1 tie, to advance one team over the other because they scored more goals on the road? does that really determine who is the better team? sorry, but i will stick with MLS's format over that garbage.

i guess your right, disregard my previous posts... Its probably more accurate in competitions like UEFA, Libertadores, becaue those away games are farther distances more jet lag, in MLS case its not good because anybody can score home or away...

Just for info, had AGR (Away Goals Rule) applied, the following ties could have been impacted:

2007: HOU vs DAL (1st leg 0-1; 2nd leg 2-1 FT), DAL would have advanced instead
2006: NER vs CHI (0-1; 2-1 FT), CHI would have advanced instead
2006: COL vs DAL (1-2; 2-1 FT, 3-2 AET), COL still advanced anyway
2005: COL vs DAL (0-0; 1-1 FT), COL still advanced anyway
2003: SJE vs LAG (0-2; 4-2 FT), LAG would have advanced instead
    2002 & before: not applicable

Im just backing my post, todays Real Salt Lake game vs Crew would have been an ugly game because the crew would have had to score 3 goals from the 4-2 aggregate score right?? or would they have had to score 2 more?? I dont know but the Crew got freaking sliced up,, good for Real, I hope they get far, but lets go Seattle!!
