Wow did I ever mess that up.

Stick Eddie in place of Califf. Probably Mastroeni for Gibbs to as MLS will need guys who can handle the rock along the backline. But I don't see we canplay a 442. Especially when you consider that Albright and Hejduk might be the best Fullbacks in MLS.

I think Zavagnin would beagood choice also. But I think Mulroony is probably the best Central Midfielder in MLS, and I also think Armas the best man-marking midfielder in MLS.

I think Ruiz and Ralph are the best forwards in the league. Even though I think a full-speed El Lobo would disagree with that. But he isn't full speed and he might never get there. He's damn good though, just not as good as Ralph or Ruiz. Ralph also brings you some size and strength up top. And a great Fro

Unless you want Roberto Carlos to have 3 goals and 2 assists, you have to get Amado out of the right midfield slot in a 3-5-2. He will get slaughtered.

If you want him to start (which I think he deserves), he would have to take Landon's spot and then Landon would bump Ralph to play in a more withdrawn role.

I'd say Cancela belongs in the midfield, even if it means benching guevara or Mulrooney. Pablo and Armas is a tossup, and I'd take Pope over Nelson.
I'd also take Walker over Adin Brown.

For just for the hell of it sub in Freddy for Ralph the last 10 minutes, just to see spin Golden Balls like a top..

Then who would be starting the right side? And Ithink Ralph is a good a forwardas we have in MLS. Like Wolff, I think he is a better pure forward than Donovan.

Mastro is another guy I forgot about. But I think Nelson is the best Central Defender other than Pope in MLS. I'd drop Califf for Pope. I'd like to keep Gibbs' athletecism out there to counter Raul (did I really just type that?) and Ronaldo's great pace. You might bump Armas for Mastro but I doubt that anyone in MLS other than Armas even has a 5% chance of slowing down Figo, Zidane, etc. Armas has a 10% chance :)

Really the best hope for MLS would be to put as much athletecism and pace in the midfield and forwards and exploit Madrid's relaivly weaker defense.

So perhaps it would be best to start Joselito Vaca or Mulland wide right. Or simply put Guevara in the middle and play Landon on the right. Or Convey even. But not Ben Olsen.

I agree, as much of a biased revolution fan, and a adin brown fan, I dont think that adin should be the top choice as the goalkeeper for this matchup, I know hes having defense problems with the injurys, belive me, I know, but 2.33 goals per game is kinda unnacceptable.

And Twellman and Noonan should at least be on the bench, same with Cancela. Cancela should play.

BTW, what day is the game?

Mastroeni and Hejduk had no problem with Figo in the World Cup. I'd let them do it again.

Walker gets the nod between the pipes.

Pope is a must, along with Nelsen and likely Gibbs. I really want Hong Myung-Bo to succeed, so, if its in him, I'd want him for cover.

Mastroeni and Armas at least deserve to make the team.

Beasley on the wing, maybe Convey off of the bench. Throw in Guevara, Cancela, or even Kirovski if he pulls it together. I like Ronnie O'Brien on the right over Vaca.

Certainly Landon and Ruiz up top with Twellman ready to come off the bench.

I almost wish they'd play Chelsea just so Spencer could have his day.

Figo was probably at 70% for that match. If Figo is healthy, they'll have problems with Figo
