I was curious. I know that the National teams play. But what would it be like if the All-stars of MLS and the Mexican League played a friendly match? The Best players of any Nationality from both leagues playing head to head. To me that sounds like a very interesting match. Whats your opinion?
How 'bout that format for the 2004 MLS All-Star Game? MLS could return the favor by doing the same in Mexico City during the Mexican League's break. Sounds like the type of match that would work especially well for Houston, Phoenix, San Diego or Southern Florida.
some friendlys would be interesting. Not just all star games but between mls teams and mexican league teams.
We already do that Hey, there's this thing called the CONCACAF Champions Cup where MLS teams play MFL teams. We got crushed this year. Either three or four of the semifinialists in the competition are MFL teams. There are no MLS teams. And guess what? It's not even an exhibition - it's for real.
But an MLS vs ML all star game is a novel idea that might spark more interest than the current MLS all star game format. Yes, the ML teams really put a pounding on the MLS' best sides. Is there that great a disparity or was it a case of the MLS clubs not taking the non-league tournaments seriously (consideration of potential injuries, playing-time for benchwarmers, etc.)?
I think that's a great idea. US-Mexico in any sport is a big rivalry and I think this would be great.
Since the MLS All-Star game is here to stay, we should make the best of it. MLS versus MNT was a great idea last year & Perhaps once every four years. I like this idea, too - MLS All-Stars versus MFL. Also, a Latin American All-Star team versus MLS is a good idea, too. How about Man U versus MLS All-Stars?
