My bar owner is seriously considering the MLS package. Cleats on Pearl Road in Strongsville. Is there anybody who would consider watching the away matches in a bar in Strongsville, besides myself?
Finally! My self-imposed soccer isolation can finally come to an end. I'll go and watch soccer in Strongsville. Does have a big-screen TV? Will the owner change the channel if there is a guy who wants to watch figure skating instead? Is there any type of Cleveland-based Crew fans in town? I know I am going down to see a couple games. Let's organize. (If there are more than, say, three people) Crew forever until we get our own team. Then you can choke. DB
Don't know what to say about that....especially since it seems Cleveland is somehow a top 7 expansion city...and how the sentence really doesn't make sense.
Cleats has great food. I have the package and I'd STILL go. But they could put another MLS team in my back yard and I'd STILL be a Crew fan. Ain't ever gonna change.
Some of my friends from where I grew up (just outsided philly) were pretty excited when they heard that Philly was a finalist. They asked if I would come back for the opener if Philly got a team and if I would cheer for them. Now I am a diehard Philly fan in all sports and 3stripe has seen me suffer through Eagles, Sixers, Flyers, and mostly Phillies disasterous seasons so she can attest to it. And my friends back home saw all that growing up too. So when I told them their philly team could be 0-28 and I wouldn't give a damn they were shocked. And when i told them that i may come back for the opening game, but only if the Crew were playing, and that I would definately be wearing my Crew colors they were a bit disapointed. But screw em, and screw philly, cleveland, or indianapolis. If you are a crew fan its effin permanent, not until.....
Um...Yeah.... I'd take a two-hour drive to Columbus over fifteen minutes to North Randall or wherever the supposed stadium will be anyday. I was at the Crew's first ever game. They were my first true "local" team. I've been supporting them for 7 years now. They are more than just a team now. They are a part of me. I bleed black and gold, nothing will ever change that. Cleveland getting a team would mean nothing more than giving the Crew a rival that is easily accessable. In other words, Crew forever. If Cleveland gets a team they can choke. C14
Dave-- Keep it in mind. You'll see me at matches (look for V-Army and the LARGE beer bottles). Yes, hang, I'll have a fresh batch ready. Any suggestions? Mr. Archer, we have yet to meet but I enjoy your posts. Having grown up in Stark County, I know where you're at. Strongsville is about an hour fifteen minute drive. My email is miller_brook@hotmail. Let me know.
I will file it for future use, sir. Thank you. I like beer. I went with a girl from Strongsville in college, but the less said about that whole thing the better.
My, my. How I have drawn raised eyebrown with my off-the-cuff comment. It was meant in jest, good sirs. However, as it was pointed out, I am not a Crew fan. I love soccer and root for the league's continued success. However, I just moved to town and my loyalties do not lie for or against the Crew. I look forward to catching a match in Crew Stadium and enjoying the atmosphere. Or watching the matches in Strongsville, or wherever, with other soccer enthusiasts. So until is what I mean. Hope I can watch a game with you with "until" hanging over my head. Until April 5th then. DB
