Does MLS get money back if match is not shown in full?

To steal from another....So if the soccer match goes into OT how would you feel when they leave the match at 6pm to show what's next? Can't have it both ways.

Thank you SnakeEyes...can I copy this and post it each week we have an incident like this?

It's funny how no one ever pays attention to that.

MLS does get repaid prorated based on time lost to tennis, just like advertisers get reembursed if events end early or are interupted (like the war).

Well, if you geniuses weren't starting 50 threads on the same subject, he wouldn't have much cause for re-using the image, now would he?

how smart is it to air back to back live events when there is that possibly of one running long!?... answer me that!... and yes i also agree with them that they shouldn't have cut off the tenis

I think they could have put something before the game that doesn't have the chance to run long, but also to be fair and do the same on the back end for other sports, so that if MLS goes into OT than the other sport won't get cut into. There are ways for them to do this, they show enough Worlds Strongest Man and Stihl Timbersports events.

I also don't think they should have cut tennis, I think a soccer fan should have paid Davenport or Capriati to give up easily to get the match over with. It would be a great soccer conspiracy for B.S. :)

I turned on the soccer game at 4 pm and saw tennis and assumed there was no game this week. How much of the game got cut? Did they prominently discuss how they would be going to the soccer game as soon as the tennis broadcast ended? So much for Soccer Saturday being "appointment television."

I think this is the main point here. 4pm Saturdays -- turn your TV on and you know there's going to be a soccer game. Except there wasn't.

And is scheduling two hours (tennis was listed from 2:00 to 4:00) for TWO tennis matches really enough when you know you've got live "appointment television" scheduled at 4:00?

Monster? Buff? I'm especially interested in your views on this one.

The first semi went to a third set, and a tiebreaker.

    Second went to three sets.

    Just bad luck/timing.

Normally, those two matches would be done in that time frame.

I don't remember them mentioning that they would be going to the MLS game at the end of the tennis match. I was flipping back to it every now and then, so maybe they did.

Yeah, I was frustrated at first... but now, sh$t happens, and thank God for the Shootout Package and the Wrap up show.

They mentioned this at least 5 times, not including the two times they switched over to the soccer game for some updates during the tennis match.

Don't go bringing facts into this. This is a rant against the vast soccer conspiracy, and facts have no place here.

it's gonna happen a couple of times every year. why everyone gets so bent out of shape EVERY SINGLE TIME IT HAPPENS is sort of hard to figure, unless you know something about human nature.

they actually did a great job of keeping us up to date on the game and even the tennis announcer was encouraging all those tennis fans to hang around and watch "some great soccer action" that was coming up and thanking the soccer fans for waiting "patiently" (ha!) and enjoying some great women's tennis.

as long as MLS gets some of its timebuy money back pro-rata, it's about the best that can be expected.

No. In that situation, ESPN agrees to give MLS 5 extra seconds of coverage in SC Without taking another shot at the sport. ESPN's original offer was 10 extra seconds With another shot at soccer but job well done by Garber.
