They had 10,622 in Attendance against SJ yesterday for a US Open game. Is Portland a soccer city or were they there to watch LD?

The Timbers get a pretty good crowd from time to time. From what I've been told the Timber Army is the largest supporters group out of the MLS in the US. Looks like a place where MLS good look one day.....if they found a willing investor.

I be;ieve that Portland would do well in MLS. Unless a miracle happens and a baseball team arrives, there wouldn't be a lot of competition in the summer. And there's already an established fan base. Yes, they have everything but an investor. Nothing's going to happen soon. But I would thaink that after 2006, when Seattle goes to MLS, then the folks in Portland would be more motivated keep up with their northern jonses and think about moving up.
