I thought BofA is due for a major renovation. Granted, most of the public-facing improvements would probably have been done for the Panthers regardless of him getting the MLS expansion.
Also back in the day it was felt that NFL stadium were far too cavernous for the small crowds that MLS teams attracted. Seattle and Atlanta blew up that restriction.
Why? At the moment the plan is to continue the regular season post-Orlando and have playoffs and MLS Cup, so presumably the MLS Cup winner will get the MLS Champions slot.
"In addition to the west end zone suites, there will also be renovations to locker rooms, facilities for players and a standing-only Supporters Section with the MLS team in mind. Fans are already able to put down membership deposits for various seating sections." https://amp.charlotteobserver.com/latest-news/article239607093.html
In fact there's never been a time when bids for expansion in NFL or other big stadiums as long-term homes were excluded from consideration. Chicago had no plan beyond Soldier Field in 1998. Seattle was one of the bidders for the 2005 expansion, then got a successful bid not long afterward. Vancouver came soon after, there was the Detroit bid that had some traction, then NYCFC, Atlanta, Charlotte. I'm sure I'm forgetting other bids that weren't successful but at least were given a chance.
I believe JerryWorld has some end zone SRO areas. Also, Safe Standing could be possibly installed as a "wedge" or a modular construct that could be removed and standard seats installed for Panthers games.
Many SRO installs include seats included so that they can be used in competitions that require "fixed" seating.
The AFL (Australian Football League) still hopes for a full stadium Grand Final match this year (It would be in October) Australian football returns June 11.
Australian rugby will allow 50 fans per game in some venues starting next week. They will only be using the corporate suites.
Australian A-League (soccer) planning August return. They just have 5 rounds and playoffs to play. All games to be in Sydney to avoid clashes with rugby.
Australian Footie returned last weekend....the NRL season has resumed. Games are on FS1 here in the states.
Fs1 will also show Australian league football... Really surprised that nobody's picked up Korean league soccer at this point... Has NBCSN and cbssn bought rights to anything unusual yet?
I watched the AFL all last season’s n on FS1 and FS2 (which I get). They showed all the playoffs too. Great sport. Great drama. then they put the grand final on FS+ which I don’t get. Pissed me off. Lol
Lubbock is a city of 250k with two Home Depots and the parking lots of both have been full for a few weeks now, in addition to lines in the Curbside Pickup lane. The stores here have pickup bins inside and you can scan your order number and grab it out of the bin without dealing with employees at all. I know this because I've bought plenty of stuff for a new weed treatment routine, I'm going to try and prune my weeping mulberry tree even though I've never pruned anything, and I decided to buy a push reel mower since I have a small yard, and all that stuff was picked up either in store or curbside. Our grocery stores have gone further and added home delivery on top of hiring new pickers. Our two major chains have 15+ combined stores here and they're all doing free delivery.
I originally said public facing because I figured player/official infrastructure could be left available or unfinished for future completion/repurposing. I could see standing room only moving from MLS to NFL fan cultures. In some ways it’s surprising the Cleveland Dawg Pound isn’t already SRO.
Once she was on Raw, NXT, and Smackdown in the same week I was hoping for a contraction. Oh...wrong Charlotte.
